Victoria reached the far shore of the pond just as the first werewolf appeared at the water's edge. Even in wolf form, she could tell it was Riley by the distinctive white patch on his chest. He paused, scenting the air, his head tilting as he caught the lingering musk of the wild wolf pack. For a moment, hunter and prey stared at each other across the dark water.
