Steam filled the bathroom as water splashed softly. The little girl, naked and slippery, splashed in the tub like a happy little fish, humming an off-key nursery rhyme.
"Mommy." Lumi tilted up her wet little face. "Can Elias be my dad?"
Aria's hand paused mid-motion as she was scrubbing her back. She softened her voice. "Do you like Elias that much?"
"Yes!"
"Then between Elias and that bad guy, who do you like more?"
Lumi's little brows knitted together as she thought very seriously. "I like Elias. He doesn't bully Mommy." Then she added in a small voice, "But… I like the big dog at the bad guy's house."
That made Aria laugh. She pinched her tiny nose. "You greedy little thing."
