Chapter six - Game on pt. 2

Katy's POV: 

Lexi is acting differently lately. I mean that she is nice and hasn't caused much trouble. She even has talked with me about boys and do I have a crush on Josh. I think that she is hiding something, just don't know what. Today, I'll understand. Soon she came home and I start a conversation.

- Hey, you come home. How are your friends?

- They are good.

- Ok, what is going on? You are nice the whole week and even talk with me about boys? What are you hiding?

- I'm not hiding anything. I'm just tired of arguing with people. About Josh, it's visible that you like him. Even an i***t will notice it.

- I don't like him. Will you stop saying it?

- I will when you admit it. If you don't like him why do you blush when he is around? Josh is just talking and when he looks at you, your face comes red like a tomato.

- I... don't change the topic. 

- Look, I'm going to take a shower, change and go out. If you are done with the interrogation, I'll go now.

Something definitely is going on. Luckily, I have boys who will help me find out what is it. I call my friends and soon they come. I wanted to see where Lexi is going tonight. I know it's not right, but I'm kind of curious to know.

- Hey boys, come in. Thanks for the help.

- No problem. So what exactly do you want from us? - Andy asked

- To come with me. I'll go after Lexi to see where is she going. 

- Isn't this like stalking? I'm not sure about this. - Mike said

- I know that she is hiding something and I want to know what is it. So will you help me or not?

- Ok, we will, if you promise to don't do anything stupid. - Josh told me 

- Thank you, guys. Oh, she is coming.

Lexi came downstairs dressed in more comfortable clothes, not her usual ones. So she is changing. For where or maybe for who? There is one way to find out.

- What are these clothes? - I asked looking at her

- What is wrong with them? 

- Nothing, you just don't wear this type of clothes usually.

- Yes, but I feel lazy today. Excuse me, but I have to go now. See you later.

I waited for her to go with her motorcycle and get in my car with the boys. I have no idea where we are going, but I won't stay too close to her or she might notice me. After 2 hours of driving, she stopped in front of one old building. On the outside, it looks like it's from the second world war. We decide to wait 10 minutes inside the car and then to walk inside. 

- What are we doing here? - Andy asked 

- Where are we? - Mike said looking around

- I have no idea, but she knows. Hopefully, it's not something bad.

- Ok, let's get over with it. - Josh said and walk out of my car

We went inside and saw many people cheering. What kind of place is that? It looks like there will be a match or something. So Lexi came to watch it. It's not a crime to watch a match, is it? There was a man who was talking on a microphone. 

- Are you ready for the best night ever? - he shouted and everybody cheered

- Yeah, let's go! - someone said

- Then let the match begin. Let me hear your applause for the one and only, quickly ranking up Maddison Baker. 

The crowd went crazy. I tried to see, but I didn't spot Lexi. I guess it's a boxing match. This girl looks strong. I wonder with who she will fight. 

- And now let me hear your applause for the one and only, the top champion and beast Lexi Chesters.

What? Lexi is boxing? Since when? The crown when wild when she walks on the stage. She has her hair braided. Now I get for what she dressed comfy. I'm pretty sure that her parents don't know about this. If they understand she will be in trouble. 

- Um, why the girls don't have boxing gloves? It's a boxing match, right? - Mike asked

- I have no idea. Let's watch. Then maybe we'll understand.

When I saw what kind of match this is, I was left speechless. They are fighting like trying to kill each other. If Lexi gets hurt, there is no way that she can hide it. I hope that she knows what she is doing. Only the idea of it terrifies me. I can't imagine how she is feeling. Most of the crowd was cheering for her. I guess she is a good boxer.

- Are you ready to lose? - I heart Maddison saying

- I'm just starting, my dear. You will need an ambulance when I finish with you. - Lexi reply and punch her in the face

That hurts. Poor girl. She doesn't know with who she is messing. Soon I spotted the two guys which were at home. Aaron and Ricky. I guess they are here to support her. There was another boy with them, but I don't know him. The end of the first round came and they take a break. I want to talk with her, but I have no idea what to tell her. The fact that I chase her is enough. I guess she has noticed me.

- Katy? What the hell are you doing here? You were supposed to be with your friends at home.

- I wanted to know what are you hiding and I find out. 

- You need to go home right now.

- I want you to explain to me what is going on. This girl can kill you. Do you realize that?

- She won't win and you weren't supposed to know about this.

I was going to say something, but the man called them for round two. After an hour, the third round finished. Both of them looked tired and had blood all over their faces. Well, mostly Maddison. Lexi had way less. I have to admit that she is good. Really good. I can see a lot of practice. Still can't believe that she is boxing.

- Are you ready to hear who is the winner? - the man said

People cheered again.

- Ok, the winner of tonight’s match is... Lexi Chesters.

- Another win for me. I told you that you can't beat me. I am unbeatable. - Lexi said

- I guess you are, but do your stupid friends think the same. Just wait until all of them leave you. They are such losers. No wonder why you are with them.

With that Lexi get angry and start punching her. I have never seen my cousin like that before. If she doesn't stop, she might kill her. 

- Sh*t! Hunter, she is doing it again. - Aaron shouted

Both of them go on stage and catch Lexi so she can stop punching Maddison.

- Let me go, you assw****s. - Lexi said

- No, that's enough. Do you want to get kicked out? She is doing it on purpose. This is your last straw. 

- I will finish her. Just let me the f**k to go. 

- Babe as much as I will love to see it, I won't let you do it. Especially when I know that you'll regret it later. 

After 10 minutes, Lexi calmed down and get off the stage. She looked at me with a sorry look on her face. I couldn't say anything. What I saw was not the Lexi who I used to know.

- I'm sorry that you had to see this. Probably you'll tell mum and dad.

- Lexi, what is going on with you? You could've hurt yourself.

- Whatever. Even if I explain everything, you still won't understand me. 

- Here you go, babe. - the boy said and bring a first aid kit

- Thanks, Hunter. I'm sorry about you know what. Sometimes I can't hold myself. Will you forgive me? 

- Of course, I will. If you promise me, to not do this again. - he said and kissed her

- This is my boyfriend Hunter. - Lexi said seeing my confusion

- Is there anything else that you're hiding? - I said chuckling

- No, but will you make me a favor. Don't tell my parents about him, please. You can tell them about boxing if you want, but please don't tell them about Hunter. 

- Lexi, I...

- Please. I'm begging you. Don't tell them. I don't want to break up with him. All I have is my friends and him. I don't have anyone else. You see that I can't talk normally with my parents. Please, Katy, do it for your cousin. Do it for me. 

She was looking me with tears in her eyes. Is that possible? I thought that bad girls don't cry. I guess I was wrong.

- Ok. I won't tell them. None of it, but you need to promise me that you won't hurt yourself.

- I promise. Thank you, Katy. I really appreciate it. - she said and hugged me

I definitely didn't expect that, but it's not that bad. When she was talking about Hunter she seemed normal. Not the bad girl she usually is. She was good and soft. I never expected that this can happen, but I see that she really likes this boy, so I can't ruin it. I know what is to like someone and I understand her. I hope that her parents won't find out, because then I don't know what she'll do. I think that Lexi can live without boxing, but I'm not sure about Hunter.
