Paul Holland gathered up the reports and miscellaneous paperwork he had used during the briefing and stuffed them all into a large cardboard file.
Having gone through the reports handed in by the afternoon crew, he stayed back to brief the evening team, just to ensure that everyone was up to date on their missing-persons investigation.
As he expected, there were several officers who—like him—believed that it was too soon to open an investigation on such a large scale for an adult couple who had only gone off the radar two days earlier, but as he explained to them the ACC had taken a personal interest in the case, therefore all the stops needed to be pulled out.
