Chapter 3

"Brother, that was quite surprising. I never thought it right that our mate could exist in the world, but right when we're in the middle of planning something efficient to get rid of all the werewolves eyeing our pack, she suddenly appears." "And if that isn't an omen for greatness coming, I don't know what is." The twin with the laid-back attitude replied. "You're overly optimistic, brother. Why don't you think if this is another trick of our enemies to get us to lose our guard and…" Dianna's bone suddenly started to rearrange before she transformed into her human form. Marcus walked towards her and checked her pulse before sighing, "We take her and treat her for now. She's been infected with wolfsbane. I highly doubt she has anything to do with our enemies or she wouldn't be a victim herself." Without another word, Marcus swooped her off the ground and swung her over his shoulder, his face burning hot as he felt the bareness of her skin on his, causing his c**k to spring up for dear life. Mike refused the urge to laugh, "You're hard." "So are you." Mike stared at his lower self and saw that Marcus was not lying. "There's no need to be ashamed. She's our mate, only she could get this kind of reaction from us easily." As they were about to leave, there was rustling from the bushes. Mike wasted no time and threw a stone in the perceived threat's hiding place. It didn't take long for a woman with long braids and freckles to appear. "Are you two that naive to believe a strange person just because she seems soft? Innocent?" Marcus sniffed her and without hesitation spat out, "Werewolf," as though she were a disease. "I guess you like that type don't you?" "Let me deal with this, brother." Mike stepped forward and before Marcus could reply, he slapped the female werewolf into the tree with his hands wrapped around her neck. As he was about to snap it, she grabbed the front of his chest and chanted a word causing a wave of slight pressure to fill his chest. He looked at the werewolf and saw her that her eyes were shinning with pleasure. "I've cursed you Alpha," she said in spite of her hitched breathing. "You and your brother." Mike scoffed, "A curse indeed. Then I would have you know that you're the cursed one. For no sane, and insane, creature like yourself would ever dare cross me and my brother unless they were cursed." "It doesn't matter," The werewolf said through her shallow breathing. "Whoever loves that woman the most would bring harm upon her, and whoever that woman loves the most would cause her the most pain. I'll be nothing but a cycle of unbearable pain for you three." CRASH Marcus ripped off the female werewolf's head off causing her blood to splatter on his arm. "You took too long, Mike." He said as he tossed the head aside causing it to roll off the cliff. The now headless body fell to the ground on its knees with blood seeping out. "I was going to take my time torturing her, yet you seem to be in so much of a hurry and ruined my fun." "Sorry," Marcus grabbed a handful of tree leaves to wipe his bloodstained hands. "I'm just in a hurry to tend to my mate. Our mate." Mike gave Marcus a look knowing he felt the same way. *** When I woke up, I noticed that the ceiling was white and transparent which made me see directly outside. I sat up, consumed by the sight of nature that surrounded me all around. It was beautiful. I was dressed in a bright yellow dress that was fitting to my body. I stood up from the bed, wondering if I should be scared or relieved. Something nasty had happened last night. The sight of the werewolf being ripped apart engulfed my memory and I wondered, did those men take me in? I looked through the glass windows and focused on listening for footsteps and I heard one. The door opened and a tanned shirtless man walked in with a curious stare in his eyes. Once he saw me, he froze in his tracks. His scent was like fresh rosemary water and his dark chocolate eyes made me feel things I shouldn't feel in the pit of my stomach. Our eyes met and it was like his soul was melting into me. My eyes filled with tears, he was indeed my mate. I recalled what happened to my former mate and I took a step back. I shouldn't do this to him, I shouldn't do this to them. "Mike," My second mate entered the room, his scent was thick and seductive, like sandalwood. "I didn't do anything to her Marcus!" Marcus had a much gentler demeanor than Mike and his very cautious steps towards me made me aware of that. "I'm not going to do anything to you," he said and I nodded, believing him instantly. How could I not when he looked at me with such silent passion, such intensity? "What's your name?" He asked as he lifted my chin up. I swallowed, captivated by his gaze. "Dianna," I said. He softly grabbed my hand and brought my fingers up to his lips, "Its lovely to meet you, Dianna." Before I could say something, Mike interrupted, "And aren't you the pretty one? Now, tell us, what's your connection with Parker?" Shivers ran up my spine knowing that Parker was the werewolf that bought me. How did these twins know him? "Mike," Marcus said with a pointed look, "You will not disrespect our mate." "It's just a simple question!" Marcus responded with annoyance in his tone, "What if she's trying to lay a trap for us?" "No I'm not!" I clung to Marcus's arm knowing that he cared for me, at least more than his twin brother did. If I had him by my side, that was enough. At least until I figured out where the hell I was before my curse triggered and they both… die. Marcus turned to me, his attention fixated only on me. I swallowed guilty but I was aware that if I was going to survive, I needed him on my side. "Marcus I'm a victim… I was sold to this werewolf, Parker. I didn't even know his name was Parker until you mentioned it. He has dirty brown hair, tangy smell, green eyes…" "Whoa whoa, slow down Dianna, I believe you." I looked into Marcus's sympathetic gaze and without thinking I kissed him, hard, until I heard Mike leave the room. Sparks flew between us and I felt instant intimacy with him unlike I'd ever felt before. I broke away from the kiss to breathe and there he was staring at me, his lips parted and his eyes darting back and forth in consideration of something. It was at this point I knew I had him hooked on me so I kissed him once more time, this time tracing his lips with my tongue with my hands caressing his chin. Marcus pulled away from me this time and exhaled sharply, "You're threading on a dangerous field, darling. I want you, but if I'm going to have you, I prefer you be in upmost condition." He pecked my forehead before heading to the door, "I'm going to get you some food. Stay here if you're feeling restless." I smiled and watched him disappear behind the door. Marcus was sweet and I almost felt bad for giving him false hope, but I had no choice. I wanted to survive, like every other girl and I couldn't do so if I had nothing. After a contemplating for a while, I went outside only to see Mike who didn't look the bit humored. His hand was on his back and his face was focused on the nature's view of flowers and trees. "What are you doing here?" He asked without turning to face me. "I…" I sighed and walked towards him until I was standing next to him, "It's a nice view. Do you mind telling me what it's called?" He sneered and turned to me, "Why don't you ask your favorite Marcus?" With that, he started to walk off. "Mike?" Marcus was back, with a tray of pancakes and cookies and uh tea. It smelt great. "Why don't we go inside and you eat there instead? Mike and I would very much like to introduce you to the pack but for a minute longer, I want you to be okay." I sighed and settled unto the green grass, "It's okay, Marcus. I'll just eat here. The scene is spectacular." Marcus placed the tray next to me with his hands in his pocket, it was then I noticed that he was now wearing a suits jacket which gave him the mature look. I smiled and took a piece of pancake before placing it in my mouth. "I… don't know your favorites yet, Dianna. Forgive me, I should've asked but I really couldn't think… after the kiss." I smiled and looked up at Marcus. "It's Alright. I love pancakes. I really prefer grapes though. I don't know it's like a pet peeve of mine. We're werewolves, I'm supposed to like meat but it just doesn’t hit the same you know?" Marcus sat next to me and caressed my hair with his fingertips, "Anything you like, it's okay, even if it doesn't fit the majority." I averted my gaze from Marcus and sighed. "Why are you being this kind to me? We only just met today." "You were chosen by the moon goddess for me and my brother to love." I swallowed, "And that's your only reason?" "I would like to know you. So would Mike. Just please give him time… he's not used to being vulnerable with himself, much less other people." "And you?" I asked in a quiet whisper. Marcus looked away. Only a second but I caught the hesitation in his eyes. "If you don't want to talk about it, it's okay." "No," he shook his head. "It's not that. It's just.. I had a mate and she died because of me. I'll never let that happen to you. I'll never let that happen to someone I care about." After a few moments, he got on his feet saying, "I'll go and prepare the pack to meet you, Dianna. You better be ready." I smiled at him.
