Epilogue
Wynter leaned back against Khalid and watched the people surrounding Pow-pow. The stone dragon was eating up all the attention. He was currently answering Qavus’s endless round of questions. Children were crawling all over him while teenagers tried to lift his tail in a contest to see who was the strongest.
“I have to admit, my people handled this much better than I expected. Of course, they don’t know what you can do yet,” Khalid mused.
Wynter giggled and nodded. “Me, too. I think we’ll wait awhile before we tell them I’m an alien.”
She tilted her head back, needing to feel Khalid’s lips against hers again. He cradled her in his arms. He was happy to prove that neither of them was dreaming. She sighed with contentment.
