The rain fell without mercy.
The black umbrella in Amara's trembling hands could no longer protect her from the cold.
She stood silently before a marble tombstone.
Her eyes refused to leave the name carved into it.
DAMIEN BLACKWOOD
Beloved Husband.
Gone Too Soon.
Six years.
It had been six painful years.
She slowly knelt beside the grave and placed fresh white lilies on the wet ground.
"I kept my promise," she whispered.
"Our son is six now."
"He looks exactly like you."
Her lips curved into a broken smile.
"I wish you had met him."
A tear rolled down her cheek.
Behind her...
Little Ethan played with tiny stones, completely unaware that the man beneath the ground was supposed to be his father.
"Mummy!"
"I'm hungry."
Amara quickly wiped away her tears.
"I'm coming, sweetheart."
She stood up.
Just then...
A convoy of expensive black SUVs drove past the cemetery gates.
She barely glanced at them.
Probably another wealthy family burying someone.
The vehicles stopped only a few metres away.
Several bodyguards stepped out.
Then...
A tall man emerged.
Black tailored suit.
Cold expression.
Confident stride.
Every worker in the cemetery froze.
"Mr Blackwood is here."
"The CEO himself..."
Amara frowned.
Blackwood?
Her heart skipped.
No.
It couldn't be.
She slowly turned around.
The umbrella slipped from her fingers.
It hit the muddy ground.
Her breathing stopped.
Standing before her...
Alive...
Was Damien.
The same face.
The same eyes.
The same scar above his left eyebrow.
It was him.
Her husband.
The man she had buried six years ago.
"Damien..."
She whispered.
He looked directly at her.
Their eyes met.
For one impossible second...
The world stood still.
Amara ran towards him.
Tears streamed down her face.
"Damien!"
She threw her arms around him.
"I knew you weren't dead!"
"I knew it!"
The bodyguards pulled her away roughly.
"Stay back!"
Damien adjusted his suit calmly.
His face showed no emotion.
He looked at her as though she were a stranger.
"I'm sorry..."
His voice was cold.
"Do I know you?"
Amara laughed nervously.
"Stop joking."
"I'm your wife."
"We've been married."
"We have a son."
Damien's brows knitted together.
"My wife?"
Before he could respond...
The rear door of the limousine opened.
A glamorous woman stepped out elegantly.
She wrapped her arm around Damien.
"Darling..."
"Who is she?"
Damien looked at Amara without recognition.
"I have no idea."
The woman smiled arrogantly.
"Perhaps another gold digger."
Amara felt her heart shatter.
"No..."
She shook her head violently.
"No, Damien."
"Tell them."
"Tell them who I am."
Little Ethan ran over.
"Mummy!"
He hugged Amara's leg.
The little boy looked up at Damien.
Then his eyes widened.
"Mummy..."
"That uncle..."
"He looks exactly like me."
Silence.
Damien stared at the child.
Something flashed across his mind.
A painful memory.
A woman's laughter.
A baby's cry.
Then...
A violent headache struck.
He grabbed his head.
Fragments of forgotten memories exploded inside his mind.
Someone shouted...
"Inject him!"
Another voice screamed...
"He must never remember his wife!"
Damien staggered backwards.
Blood slowly trickled from his nose.
The glamorous woman immediately held him.
"Darling!"
"What happened?"
Damien stared once more at Amara.
His eyes were filled with confusion.
"Why..."
"Why does seeing you hurt so much?"
Amara burst into tears.
Because deep inside...
His heart still remembered her.
Even if his mind did not.
Just then, a black-gloved hand watched from behind a nearby tree.
The mysterious figure smiled.
"So..."
"They've finally met again."
The figure pulled out a phone.
"It's time for Phase Two."
The call connected.
A chilling voice answered.
"Should we eliminate her now?"
The figure looked at Amara.
"No."
"Not yet."
"Let's make him fall in love with her..."
"...before we destroy them both."
Who is the mysterious mastermind, and if Damien is alive... whose body was buried six years ago?
