As they followed Seraphina across the lawn to her house, Blaze couldn’t help but feel a shift in the air. The tension from earlier hadn’t completely disappeared, but Seraphina’s presence seemed to chase away some of the shadows that had hung over the evening. He glanced at her, walking just ahead, and felt a twinge of something deep and inexplicable stir within him. Maybe, just maybe, this dinner would be more than just a way to lighten the mood.
