Blaze leaned against the back of his chair, his dark eyes fixed on Seraphina as she entered the classroom. A sharp pang of annoyance twisted in his chest the moment he saw her, his father's voice still ringing in his ears from the scolding he’d received the night before. And it was all because of her. She had somehow wormed her way into his father’s good graces, making him look bad in the process. The memory of his father’s disappointed look made Blaze’s fists clench.
