Two types of pain.

1147 Words
I sat in the lounge room as "Gabe" aka Mr East dragged Luce to the kitchen, I could hear angry whispers, along with a few outburst like; you f*****g drop-kick! d**k for brains. This made me smile despite the situation, I blinked against the throbbing pain from the gash on my collar bone, I was sure multiple bones were broken as well, but it was my shoulder blades that seemed to ache the most. I could feel my eyes closing, I was exhausted so I let them, I felt the pain through my whole body, as I fell on to my side on the couch, but the pain couldn't pull me back to consciousness. 'I walked along a long hallway, the lights were blinding and every part of my body aches, turning my head, a sharp pain coursed down my spin, causing me to shriek in surprise. I blinked as tears slid in waves down my cheeks, but they felt foreign. I touch a finger to catch one on my finger, it was silver and glistening, but something unusual about it settled in my stomach, but what was it? Looking up, I stopped walking, I noticed the walls were all mirrors, and the person that looked back at me was a stranger. My eyes were the same, so was my hair, but my face had higher cheekbones, a pronounced jawline, and my expression was cold and detached. The eyebrows of the stranger me, furrowed but no lines formed to express anything more. I noticed as blood leaked down my back pooling at my feet, from the reflection is had dripped as I walked. A noise came from further down the hall, I walked towards it, a feeling of deja ve sweeps over me, as I push on the door, the room is dimly lit, in front of me is a person strapped to a chair, it's also me, the me I know. "Are you ready Cassiel?" a voice says from the shadows, behind the chair. "Your banishment is final, he can't save you now, he can only fall with you and the others." The voice continues. Something tingles in my back, and I feel a comforting weight settle, as the ruffle of feathers fill the room. "Oh no darling, too late to fight it." The voices says in a cruel and teasing one. I hear a growl, looking to my left, as figure of a man, seems to struggle against invisible restraints. "It's ok Cassiel, stay there, no matter what, no matter how long, I'll find you." the voices says, something familiar about the voice nags at me. "It'll be a thrill when you find out who she really is Lucy, Gabe already knows." the voice behind the chairs says, with a knowing chuckle. But my head snaps back to the struggling figure in the shadows. "Lucy? Luce?" my eyes strain, but I can't see into the darkness. "Say goodbye Cas, you won't be seeing him for a while, if ever.." I look back at the voice, as a figure towers over me... No...Way...' I sit up with a gasp, the room is dimly lit, I struggle against my restraints, no.... an embrace?.. Craning my head back, I glimpse Luce holding me, looking around the room, I notice all the curtains are pulled close and the light is the small slivers of sunshine in between the joins. I swallow, lifting a hand to my collar bone, the wound has been bandaged, my body aches but nothing like it had when I went to sleep. I blink a few times, my eyes feel dry and sandy, I pry Luce's arms from around me, careful not to disrupt his rest. I stand, walking to towards the only light in the house, I can hear the kettle boiling, and it takes a minute for my eyes to adjust, but there leaning on the counter looking at me is Gabe aka Mr East. "Hey Cassie, well you awake, how are you feeling?" I cleared my throat, ready to ask, though I knew I would sound batshit crazy. "Good, umm..can I ask, how long ago did you meet this Cassiel?" I waited as Mr East, seemed taken aback by my question. "Ah well, it feels like a millennia ago." His words are vague, but it feels like the truth, as my wound seems to warm in answer. I nod, wondering what to ask next. "Are you and Luce real brothers?" I ask, watching Mr East, flinch at the sharp delivery of my question. "More like blood brothers, we are related but not closely." He says, my wound warms. "Do you know much about the bible?" I ask, he pauses at this before answering. "No I don't sorry." My wound burns harshly, I bit back a scream, lies; my gut screams. "Do you know Morax?" Mr East eyes betray him, but he lies again. "No I do not." he answers smoothly, I nod. "Ever feel like you were someone else in the past and dreams are leading you into their past?" Mr East asks, his eyes pierce me, but I keep my expression calm but confused. "No I don't believe I do?" He knows..Is he safe to talk to yet? I don't know. Especially after that dream, no not dream, I'm sure it was real, it felt like it. I heard the creaking of the couch in the room behind me, then stretching and groaning. I move aside as Luce enters, his eyes are blurry but he quickly straightens reading the tension in the room. "Hey guys what are you talking about?" He asks, directing the question at Mr East, who still watches me, but he answers. "Cassie was asking about the bible, I think her brush with death unnerved her." His words are quiet not accusing but unsure. "I just asked about the bible because he is my english teacher and I'm feeling like I need to pray to someone, I was going to ask if he knew any prays, I was feeling thankful to be alive." I shrug, my innocence showing in my eyes, Luce nods. "What about the other questions, about Cassiel and Morax?" He presses, but I'm ready with an answer. "Well you keep calling me Cassiel so I figure she was important to you both and Morax seemed unusual and I thought he was cute." I look away, as I will a blush to rise on my cheeks successfully, Luce scoffs but Mr East chuckles. The kettle has boiled and we all sit down for a coffee, but I can still feel the burn of my wound from Mr East or Gabe's lies, I watch him when neither of them are looking, I feel like a third wheel the entire conversation not that I mind, my thoughts are still with the figure standing over me from my dream.
