I looked between Luce and Gabe, neither seemed to be able to speak, finally Gabe cleared his throat, causing us both to look to him.
"Cassie, why don't you stay for dinner, we can discuss everything afterwards, I'd recommend you call your parents, inform them you'll be staying here the night." with that Gabe turned on his heel, leaving the broken plates of the floor.
Luce only nodded at the words, then weren't back to staring at the floor with a frown.
I called my parents, they'd been reluctant but when I'd mention Mr East my teacher was Luce's brother, and he'd be here, they'd been much more agreeable.
I sighed, flopping back on the couch, I leaned back, looking at the ceiling, I heard the recliner creak as Luce moved, I flicked my gaze in his direction,
He was watching me with predatory stillness, I straightened as he approached me, sliding onto the couch beside me, his gaze softened, he grabbed my hands, we both looked down at the touch.
Suddenly a feeling surged through me, I gasped at the electricity, the warmth, pins and needles of warmth spread through my veins, traveling from my hand, up my arms, blossoming in my chest, then that pain followed...
"Argghh!" The cry escaped my lips, I blinked at Luce, he eyes were wide, a hiss leaving his teeth as he dropped my hands, like I'd burnt him, I heard thundering footsteps, but everything was fading quickley.
"Cassie?" It asked...then everything went black.
'I opened my eyes, I was looking down at 2 sets of hands, mine and..looking up Luce's, my heart squeezed, he was so handsome, but he looked different, more beautiful.
I looked around us, we were in a meeting of sorts, hundreds and hundreds of beautiful people, in rows and rows of seats, all looking forward, i followed their gaze, Luce's included, all fixated on a large empty white stage.
A ripple spread from the front row back, a murmur of excitement sounded amongst the crowds, I continued to look around, there seemed that there was no walls, the crowd stretched in both directions almost endlessly, beyond that white, that was all she could see.
"Hello all!" A voice rang out loudly.
My eyes snapped back the the stage.
A beautiful couple stood upon it, a tall slick blonde, blue eyed woman and a toned golden tanned man, his brown eyes fixed on the woman.
"Hello Godiaya." Everyone but me replied in unison.
The word struck a cord with me, Godiaya, who was she? Who was he?
"I'm ecstatic as always for everyone who's been able to attend our monthly meeting, I'm glad to announce, I've seen our next couple!" the crowd cheered, it was then that I noticed, that the room was divided into 2 sections, those sitting in pairs wearing white clothes with gold threads, and my side, mixtures of people in white and silver.
"Our next pairing will be..." Everyone, including Luce held their breath as the woman Godiaya, paused.
"Lucifer Morningstar and Amy Gentle!" My heart stopped, I looked at Luce, he'd stiffened, staring ahead, "no" he whispered, he looked at me frowning.
What was going on?
"Lucy?" I asked, what was pairing?
"She's made a mistake, its ok Cas." He smiled, though his eyes betrayed his worry.
He stood, I looked back to the stadge where a blonde woman stood waiting next to Godiaya, she seemed familiar.
With a whoosh, My hair was blown over my eyes, I brushed it away, looking back towards the stage where Luce landed, I froze, towering above Luce from his back a large set of glittering silvery white wings, they gave off a beautiful greenish glow, they were mesmerizing.
But more importantly, Lucifer? My crush was the fallen angel? Cassiel had not been a fallen angel when I read everything online, nor mention in the bible, how'd I find myself of earth?
I stood staring as Godiaya, asked Amy and Luce to hold hands for pairing, he did so but stiffley, he felt so far away, my stomach clenched at the 2 of them, Amy's wing now sprung from her back, expanding until they too, could be seen behind her, though smaller then Luce's they were just as beautiful, fluffy white, with a soft pastel pink glow.
I frowned, my angry growing by the minute at the sight before me.
I flinched at the cool touch on my arm, blinking I looked to the left of me, Gabe sat there a small smile on his lips.
"It's ok Cas, you're aloud to feel upset but just don't burn us all under your furious gaze." He smiled, my heart felt calmer, his cool touch was relaxing, my shoulders slumped, and I nodded.
Looking back at the stage, Luce said something to Godiaya, she looked at him before shaking her head, he seemed to say it louder, Amy now pulled on his arm, Godiaya raise a hand in warning, replying briefly he hung his head in acceptance.
I reached for Gabe's hand, he gripped mine, his cool touch help my centre myself the rest of the ceremony, after the pairing they flew off together, the meeting went on for another hour but all I could focus on was Gabe's touch, otherwise I was sure to go after them.
Gabriel squeezed my hand every time my thoughts wandered, I was thankful to have him as a friend, I wish I could of loved him like I did Luce.
As I thought this my eye wandered to his, he'd heard my thoughts, and smiled sadly.
We looked towards the stage, I leaned my head on his shoulder, as he exhaled a shuddering breath, we stayed like that long after the meeting finished, and everyone had departed.'
I blinked, briefly I came back to consciousness, Gabe stood above me, I could feel Luce beside me.
Tears slid down my cheeks.
"I'm still thankful for your friendship Gabriel, I wish I could of loved you as I do Luce." His eyes widened as my visioned blurred again and I was pulled back into the darkness.
