When I entered my room, Courtney was waiting for me.
I collapsed on the bed and pulled her close to me in a hug.
"Gosh, I missed you so much." I whispered in her hair.
"I thought I was never going to see you." She murmured back, holding me tight.
"I'm here and I'm going to protect you guys. I won't let that connard hurt you."
"Seeing your abductor up close, he's too devilishly handsome to be called an asshole."
I broke the hug, "I call him connard."
"A sweeter name for asshole." She wriggled her brows.
I rolled my eyes and sat up, pulling a pillow to me.
"Thank you." I told her sincerely, "For taking care of them and never giving up on me."
She scoffed, "I don't need your thanks, I need all the deets!! First, are you sure I'm safe? I'm literally the only human here."
