Chapter 037: Flower Field After a brief conversation with Gavriel, the young teenager who had once met Anindira and Halvir while they were eating fish by the river, Anindira and Zia immediately returned home with Ruvi. As soon as they arrived, the aroma of cooking welcomed them. Lunch had already been neatly laid out on the dining table, ready to be eaten. They sat down and ate heartily, the lingering hunger from a busy morning gradually fading away. After finishing their meal, Zia grabbed Anindira's hand, her eyes sparkling. "Let's go to the grassland!" she urged. Ezra came along as well, while Koza brought her children. Together, they slowly followed a narrow path leading toward the vast savanna. The moment they entered the grassland, Anindira froze in amazement. "Uwwahhh!" she exclaimed instinctively. The endless grassland stretched out like a green ocean, resembling a giant carpet draped across the mountainside, decorated with colorful flowers scattered like nature's embroidery. Thousands of butterflies danced and fluttered through the air, making the scenery even more vibrant. Occasionally, small colorful birds flew overhead, their cheerful songs ringing through the sky. The longer Anindira stared, the deeper she became immersed in the beauty around her. "Well?!" Zia patted Anindira's shoulder, pulling her out of her daze. "This grassland looks even more beautiful when the peak of summer arrives." "Eum..." Anindira nodded repeatedly, unable to take her eyes off the view. "Beautiful... so beautiful," she murmured with a wide smile, her lips curved in pure wonder. She barely blinked as she gazed at the endless sea of flowers stretching beyond sight. "I like it here..." Her voice was soft, unable to hide her admiration. "I even want to live here." Anindira's eyes sparkled. Her smile never faded, and her nose seemed to bloom along with the flowers before her, flaring gently in rhythm with the wind. "Hahaha..." Koza laughed warmly and sincerely. "You really love this place." Anindira turned toward her and nodded enthusiastically, causing their laughter to echo across the grassland. Her innocence and joy spread to everyone around her. "Koza, I'll sit here with Zia and Anindira," Ezra said as she lowered herself onto the ground, patting the grass beneath her. "Go play with the children." "Eum." Koza answered briefly while affectionately patting Ezra's head. Then she ran toward the wider savanna ahead, leading her four children. "Come on, kids! Let's have fun!" Zia smiled and patted the ground beside her. "Anindira, come sit here!" She pointed toward a shaded and comfortable spot on the grass. Anindira followed and sat beside Zia. She inhaled the fresh scent of the flower field, felt the softness of the grass beneath her, and allowed her gaze to sink into the breathtaking sea of colors. The morning breeze brushed through her hair, carrying the distant laughter of Koza's children as they played, adding warmth to the already perfect atmosphere. "Anindira, have you made your choice yet?" Ezra asked, opening a conversation while looking at her curiously. "Hm?" Anindira turned and tilted her head, confused by the question. "Halvir," Ezra clarified firmly. "Making him your mate..." Anindira's face immediately turned red. "Maybe..." she answered softly. "That's a good choice," Ezra replied with a smile before adding half-jokingly, "My daughter is foolish for not liking him." "Mom!" Zia cried out in protest. "Why would you say that?!" Anindira smiled faintly as she looked at the pouting girl. "But Anindira, you're amazing for being able to talk comfortably with that black Jaguar. Many women can't. They complain because they find Halvir frightening." "Aren't you perfectly normal when talking to him too...?" Anindira replied casually. "Maybe because I've known him since I was a baby. To me, he's just like my other fathers," Zia answered innocently and confidently. Ezra patted Zia's shoulder before interrupting with a smile. "That's because she's smart when choosing men. Unlike you!" She pinched Zia's nose. Zia puffed out her cheeks, trying to endure both the ticklishness and annoyance. "Then other women are foolish too!" Zia grumbled loudly. "Lots of them are scared of him." "Foolish girl!" Ezra lightly knocked Zia's head. "They aren't afraid. They want him too. But they lack confidence, and Halvir knows it. That's why he ignores them." Anindira pictured Halvir in her mind. Her face flushed with pride. "Kak Halvir is kind and fun to be around. He's also very caring," she said with certainty. "You're the only one who thinks that way. They start trembling in fear before Halvir even says a word," Zia teased, sounding slightly jealous. "It's not like that... You're seeing it wrong. You're still too young. You don't know anything." Ezra lightly knocked Zia's head again to emphasize her point. "A *Sapphire like Halvir would be an enormous advantage in a household. But the problem is... can his mate handle him? What if the next mate is too weak? What if Halvir acts unwisely and disrupts the balance of the household?" "What does that mean?!" Zia asked loudly. The same question echoed inside Anindira's heart—confused and curious. Ezra lowered her head slightly, her voice becoming gentler. "Like this. Forgive me, Anindira, but I also wanted Zia to become Halvir's mate." The color instantly darkened on Anindira's face. Ezra smiled when she saw the jealousy there. "As I said before... having a *Sapphire in the household is incredibly beneficial. That's why I wanted him for my daughter. But neither Zia nor Halvir sees the other romantically. You can relax now, Anindira." She looked at Anindira warmly. Anindira lowered her head in embarrassment after hearing Ezra's explanation. "Some women speak badly of Halvir because he rejected them. Their embarrassment causes them to view him negatively..." Ezra continued sincerely, proud of Anindira's courage. "Auntie is that confident? What if he meets a very beautiful woman in the Lion Kingdom?" Anindira rested her chin on her knees and pouted slightly. The sight nearly made Ezra laugh. "I admit that women in the Lion Kingdom are different from those in a small village. But no matter how beautiful they are, Halvir won't turn away from you." "That's only Auntie Ezra's opinion. We don't know what will happen in the future..." "You're right. We don't know. But we can still predict." Ezra looked at Anindira with wise eyes. "Auntie trusts Kak Halvir that much?!" "Not only Halvir..." Anindira lowered her gaze. "I don't have any special qualities that would make someone become fixated on me." "You're underestimating yourself, Anindira. But yes, I'm not completely certain about you either. We've only known each other for two days." "Then?!" Anindira asked curiously. "*Imprint." "*Im-m-pr-print?!" Ezra watched Anindira stammer over the unfamiliar word, curiosity shining brightly in the girl's eyes. Halvir... are you the only one who told her about it? she wondered silently. Anindira's bewilderment only strengthened Ezra's belief that this was the first time the girl had ever heard the term. "Zia, you know what an *Imprint is, don't you?" Ezra asked, testing her daughter with a meaningful narrowing of her eyes. "Yes. A bond of feelings that binds people together," Zia answered confidently, her voice calm and steady. Ezra nodded, a faint smile appearing on her lips. "Eum... Anindira, Halvir has an *Imprint on you. He has already decided that you will become his mate. Because of that, Halvir will not change his decision... unless one of you is no longer alive." Anindira's eyes widened in utter shock. It felt as though she had just heard something impossible. Yet her experiences over the past three months had proven that this strange world was undeniably real.
