Laila POV After the conversation with Miss Ma, I could hardly remember the drive back to Elijah’s house. My mind was swimming in a whirlwind of emotions that was so hard to unravel. Aunt. She said she was my aunt. My mom’s younger sister. It didn’t make sense. None of it did. Turned the doorknob and shut the door behind me, leaning against it with my eyes closed as if shutting out the world would make everything else go away.
