Chapter Eleven
Rain pounds on the pavement the moment I leave the office. It's always the case. The moment I no longer have to be inside, the weather turns miserable. It shouldn't be this gloomy in June.
The door swings shut behind me, letting me distance myself from my fake job and the frustrations it brings, which are very real. I must admit, I never thought about the consequences of having to have two jobs at the same time. Especially when I can't get fired from one for the sake of the other.
I bow my head and start to walk away as quickly as I can. The sooner I get home, the sooner I'll be able to get out of my soaking clothes and into the shower. After that, I'll have to work out what the best use of my time is. I hope the weather gets better, the rain makes it difficult to investi
