"GOOD Morning!" she greeted cheerfully. Sage was preparing their breakfast in the kitchen. He was startled when he saw her. She forced herself to smile. "Sorry about that. I planned to wake up early so I could prepare our breakfast but I didn't hear the alarm."
"It's okay," he answered and avoided her gaze.
Her eyes were swollen from last night. And what time she fell asleep, she had no idea. She was expecting he was already gone by the time she woke up. And seeing him still here surprised her. She was not prepared to see him that she didn't know how she would act in front of him. She tried to compose herself and even with her voice quivering, she greeted him cheerfully.
