Cam walked into the front office of the law firm where she’d been with Nick two days ago. It was almost 5:30 and Ellen was just straightening her desk for the night.
“Hi,” Cam said as she walked up to the desk, “Is Mr. Bradford in?”
Ellen smiled at her. “I think he is. I’ll have to check. What’s this in reference to?”
“Nick Gardiner,” was all Cam said.
“Oh yes, you were here with Mr. Gardiner the other night. I thought I recognized you.” Ellen pressed several numbers on the phone. Cam turned and paced the waiting room while Ellen spoke to someone in a hushed voice.
“He’ll be free in just a few minutes. Have a seat and Jack will be right out.”
