Cam woke long before her eyes chose to open or her body wanted to move. What did I do? she thought. Did I spill everything? What exactly did I say? I don’t even know how I got here. And, where is here? She slowly forced her eyes to open. They seemed caked with a layer of glue. The light coming in from the window was much too bright. If she didn’t have to see to move around, Cam would have chosen to keep her eyes shut. ‘Where am I?’ she wondered. She rolled over, away from the window, and sat up. She looked around to assess her whereabouts. This was a hospital room. Beyond that, she didn’t have a clue. She was fully dressed except for her shoes.
