Lily should pinch herself. This handsome prince of a man stood before her, smiling, complimenting her, and just that morning proclaimed that he loved her.
Brandon leaned down and kissed her cheek. “I’m wondering if you might like a little accessory to go with that dress.” He reached into his jacket pocket to pull out a small box and popped open the lid, displaying the necklace—a classic heart shape filled with pavé diamonds set in platinum.
She gasped softly. “Oh, Brandon. It’s beautiful,” she whispered.
He slipped the necklace from the box and clasped it around her neck. Her fingers toyed with the pendant. He brushed her hair aside and brought his lips to her exposed skin. She shivered at his touch.
