Chapter Twelve
Lily awoke to a soft stroking down the bridge of her nose. It was so subtle, she wasn’t sure it was real. When she caught the scent of roses, she knew it was no dream. She pried her eyes open to see Brandon smiling down on her, red rose in hand.
“Good morning, beautiful.”
“Good morning.” She couldn’t help but smile back at him.
Dressed in a dark gray suit with a red silk tie, he looked handsome and powerful, and oh so yummy. What is it about a man in a suit?
“Lily, I’m sorry about last night. We got a letter from the FDA, and I couldn’t let it rest.”
“Oh no.” She lifted up on her elbow.
