Nash had a big argument with his parents, after which their relationship became tense, and Nash got grounded. His parents said he would never go to the village again.
Nash couldn't do anything about his parents' decision. He tried to talk about it, but every time his requests to talk and change his parents' minds were ignored.
He tried, he really did, but it never worked. The whole autumn Nash was grounded. He didn't really care about it at all. But he cared that he wouldn't be able to see Alex again in the summer. Nash promised to come back and he didn't want to break that promise.
Autumn passed, then winter, spring, and summer...
The whole year was like the same cycle of repeating things.
Nash didn't find joy in things that used to bring him a lot of fun. He didn't go out. Summer break was especially hard for him. He wanted to go back to the village, to Alex, to his boyfriend.
But his parents were unfazed; they didn't change their minds and they even seemed to like that their son was doing everything without even commenting and complaining on it like he usually did.
He started to study, work hard on his grades. But now he seemed emotionless. He just tried to fill this emptiness in his heart by doing something, anything. Just not nothing. That way he'd only end up feeling worse. Though burying yourself in work didn't help with filling the emptiness in his heart and just made him feel sick of this city life style.
The year passed like that.
And the next year too. Autumn, winter, spring.
And to his biggest surprise, his parents allowed Nash to go to the village just for one day.
Even though a day wasn't much Nash was over the moon. He counted days before the date his parents said they'll go to the village. He couldn't wait to see his boyfriend again. To hug him again, kiss, and apologise for not coming last year.

The day finally came.
Nash was smiling the whole way while he sat on the backseat and looked out the window. It was so nice to see the familiar sights again.
They passed the forest Nash already knew so well because he went there so many times with Alex. Then the lake, the houses. Passing the already so well known houses Nash felt so happy.
Finally, the car stopped at the familiar spot near his grandparents house.
Nash got out of the car and ran on the familiar path along the lavander field.
His parents walked after him and seemed not as eager. Nash didn't really notice.
But what he saw shocked him.
On the place where Alexs' grandparents house used to be were renovation works going on. Nash was confused and lost of words, his parents came to him while he was still processing what was happening. When he finally was able to speak up and asked what does this all mean his parents told that Alex and his grandparents moved away not telling anyone to where and changed their phone numbers. So now nobody knew to where they moved and there was no way to contact any of them at all. It turned out his parents just didn't want to upset him so forbid to come there last summer, but they knew they couldn't hide the truth forever.
Nash was devastated. He wanted to see Alex so bad, but in the end there's nothing.
Few years passed like that, Nash didn't know what happened to Alex, why his grandparents moved, was he alright, but he hoped he was. Everything he could now do is just hope his boyfriend was alright. They never actually broke up so Nash still didn't date anyone else because of that.

Another school year started. 1 September, in Nash's class there was a new student. Nobody knew anything about him.
Nash wasn't interested and was looking out the window as the teacher asked the new guy to introduce himself. And that moment Nashe's eyes instantly were on the guy when he heard the familiar voice.
"I'm Alex, hope we'll get along well"
