That evening they boarded their flight. Cressida was excited to see their destination was Barbados. The West Indies had long been a dream of hers; at last all her dreams were coming true. It was still dark when they touched down, but the night air was scented with jasmine. Sandhu dropped her off at a hotel, where Cressida showered then slept for a while, waking to find a blazing sun. They spent the morning lazing by the hotel pool, sunning themselves and dipping into the blue water. Cressida could not help but notice how Sandhu looked at her in the briefest of her bikinis.
