Chapter Two

[P.O.V Zyston Woods] Smelling the fresh autumn air. Blowing through my truck window while driving back home. It has been seven years since I was last home. This entire time, I have been traveling around the world. Training and finding alliances for this upcoming war. The reason I have come home is that. My elder brother has contacted me. Telling me I need to come home for it was urgent. Informing me that our enemy. After all these years, has resurfaced. 'Stupid damn Witch Hunter, he's always causing trouble. His like dirt underneath my feet.' I thought to myself. The Witcher Hunters were created. To help maintain the creature's society. To make sure that they put the evil creatures down. And the moral creatures weren't over populating. But as time went on, they lost their way. Causing a civil war with us moral creatures. The creatures that were there that night of battle. We slaughtered all the Witch Hunters. Except for one, he got away. Driving past a sign saying Dark Wood Fifty Miles. Three miles from the sign on the left-hand side was a dirt road. Taking that road was nothing but forest following it. At the end of this road is a nice driveway leading to a mansion. Painted all white with stone siding running along the bottom. With some black shudders around the windows. Pulling up in the driveway, turning off my truck. Getting out and grabbing my duffel bag out of my back seat. A woman with black short hair. That spikes in the back and bangs to her chin. Deep green emerald eyes. Five feet and eight inches in height, white skin, and perfect curve body. She runs towards me and jumping into my arms. Making me drop my duffel bag to catch her. Her legs wrapping around my torso. Squeezing me in a bone-crushing hug. Putting her down on the ground. She stood there, checking me out. "Damn, it has been a long time since I last saw you. You're looking mighty sexy with that facial hair." The woman says teasingly. While her fingers raked my beard playfully. "What about you? Finally, you have come into your woman's curves. You're no longer a chubby girl." Replying to her with tease. The woman hugs me again. This time, it wasn't bone-crushing. Placing her head on my chest, whispering, trying to hold back sobs. "I missed you, my twin." "I missed you to Katrina." Pulling her face back using my thumbs. Wiping her tears away. Smiling at her, she smiles back. Taking each other by the hand. Using my other hand to grab my duffel bag. We walk to the house. Walking into the Foyer, a huge dark wooden staircase greets. To the left is the dining room, and on the right was the living room. Walking up the stairs and turning left. Down the hallway were a bunch of doors on the left wall, and the right wall was made of glass. At the end of the hall was a dark wooden door. Turning the golden handle, walking into my room. A huge king bed sat in the middle. With black and gray silk bedding. Next to it were some bedside tables with lamps on top. The left wall has a balcony door with a small living room area. There was a walk-in closet and the bathroom on the right side wall. Two bookcases next to the bedroom door and dark grey carpeting. "Where's Vincent?" Asking Katrina while placing my duffel bag on the bed. Taking a seat on the bed with Katrina sitting next to me. "He's out taking a run. We will see him later." She replies. "Surprised you are not with him." "That is because I wanted to see my twin and maybe?..." Looking at Katrina's face, she had this up-to-no-good-look. "I know that face, and the answer is no." telling her sternly. "You haven't even heard what I have to say yet!" Standing up, crossing my arms on my chest, looking at her. "The answer is still no." "Hear me out! They're a great bar in town. I really want to take you too. Great music and amazing drinks, not to mention cute servers." She tries to persuade me. "You have a Mate. How does that benefit you?" "Your right, and I love him with all my heart. But the server idea was for you. Considering you don't have a mate yet." Those words coming out of her mouth. Stung like stabbing a knife into my heart. For years, I have been looking for my mate. It was natural for a half-breed like myself to find their mate by age twenty-one. But I have been looking for mine for eight years. From the year of my twenty first birthday. I'm getting to where I think she might have died or she with someone else. Just thinking about it puts me in a grim mood. "Shut up, Kat!!" Her face looked hurt after shouting at her. "I'm sorry, Zyston. I didn't mean to upset you." Her voice sounded wounded. "If you want to go out? Then fine, I will go, but when it comes to talking about my mate. I rather not talk about it." A huge smile crossed her face. She hugged me tightly. "Thank you for accepting, and I promise I won't mention it anymore... Until you meet her." Rolling my eyes at her. I have missed her and her sassy mouth. "Your welcome. Now get the hell out of my room." Letting go of her, I grabbed my bag and headed towards the shower. [P.O.V Adriana Braxton] Can this night get any longer? This is why I hate working Friday nights. They are always busy as hell. We are almost completely a full house. Mainly people coming in from the city. The music was playing. Some people were even playing pool. There were horny men and women. Trying to get a passionate night with each other. Thank goodness I am just the bartender. I only have to serve drinks and listen to drunk people. Even then, I give them a piece of my mind. And they learn to shut up most of the time. It was only 11 p.m., two more hours, and I'm finally off. A woman with long blonde hair. In the same outfit as mine. With a small waist purple apron and high heels. She comes towards me, handing me an order for her table. With an enormous smile on her face. "The normal for the Woods siblings." Says the young woman. The Woods siblings have been coming here for a while now. They have become a regular of ours. Looking at the paper, it reads red wine, scotch, and a whiskey. "Whiskey? That is not normal for the Woods siblings," Saying with wonder and fact. "I know... You know that twin of Katrina's?" Tanner asks me, all excited with her southren acent. "The one who went traveling?" "Yes! He's in town, and may I say they look exactly alike. Except ones a female and the other a male. But my hot glory, he is gorgeous." Placing the drinks on a tray. She picks the tray up and walks to their table. Stepping on my tippy toes. Trying to see him, but I couldn't. Because there were too many people in the way. 'It not like one member. Of the gorgeous families in town. Would be interested in me anyway.' Thinking to myself, rolling my eyes. Continuing back to my work. The rest of the night, I couldn't help but have this gut feeling. That told me that something big was about to happen. Finally, it was 12:30 a.m. everyone has left for the bar has closed. Cleaning up the bar and washing my glasses, I got out at 1:15 a.m. It gave everyone plenty of time to leave for home. Or leave our little town. Making it safe for me able to walk home. "Jake, I'm heading home!!" Yelling for him to hear me through the kitchen door. "Alright, be safe!" Jake yelled back. Some nights, Jake works a little later than I do. Making sure everything cleaned up. And dealing with the really drunk people. By calling them a cab. The nights he works late, I usually walk back home. I really don't mind. I enjoy running, jogging, and walking. Especially in a quiet town like this. It gives me time to think. Jake tells me to take his truck. But I refuse every time. Walking through the back door heading home. Breathing in the fresh air. Putting my headphones in, listening to Halsey. Outside of town, almost getting home. There were two trucks parked on the side of the road. With a group of guys drinking and chatting. For the five years I lived here, this has never happened. It has always been peaceful. Getting a weird and bad gut feeling, I turn back around to town. "Hey, where are you going, pretty lady!!!" Drunk guy number one yelled. Ignoring them and picking up my speed. I can hear the engine roar to life, driving my direction. Moving my feet to run with my heart pounding hard. The truck stops in front of me, making me scream. Running back the other way. Another truck stops in front of me. Making another scream leave my mouth. Men getting out of their trucks. Making a circle around me. Anxiety really flowing through me. 'Why didn't I wait for Jake to get off? Or take the truck tonight?' Scolding myself. "What do you say, boys? Should we let ourselves have a little fun?" Drunk guy number one ask. They all cheered and agreed on it. "Be a lot more fun without those clothes on." Drunk guy number two said. Hearing this made my heart drop. Old memories flashing of a man r****g me. Tears fall down my face. I couldn't even utter a word because I was so scared. Pushing me up against the front of the truck, holding me down. Drunk guys one and two both start ripping at my clothes. Using a knife, putting it under my sleeves. Cutting into the fabric. Trying to fight them back. But they're just too strong. My shredded shirt falling to the ground. Cutting my bra straps and undoing the button on my shorts. " P.. pl.. please... St.. stop.." My words coming out in sobs. They all laughed at me, closing my eyes, waiting for the torture to end.
