Adalynn POV Dakota’s eyes flit nervously around the room, never settling on one spot for too long. “I don’t understand why Donna is following me either,” I say quietly, trying to keep my voice steady. “Maybe she thinks you’re in more danger than you realize.” Dakota gives me a skeptical look but doesn’t respond. Her fingers trace absent patterns on the wooden table, and I can see the tension in her shoulders. Just then, the door creaks open, and Donna enters the room. Her eyes are sharp, scanning every corner before finally resting on us. “Everything alright here?” she asks, her voice calm but authoritative. I nod, but Dakota’s expression remains strained. “Why are you following Adalynn?” Dakota blurts out, unable to contain her frustration any longer. “Shouldn’t you be with the Luna?”
