I slammed on the brakes and abruptly stopped as we approached the palace entrance. I leaped out of the vehicle and yelled to Mark, “Get her inside now!” Mark was running down the stairs to get Adalynn.
As Mark whisked Adalynn away towards the safety of the palace, I felt a surge of determination and fury course through my veins. The thought of Aries, with his relentless arrogance and unfounded claims about Adalynn, set my blood boiling.
