I opened my eyes and sit straight up in bed, trying to figure out where I was. I quickly remembered we were in the safe room below the packhouse. I look over and see Dakota is still sound asleep, so I tap her shoulder and softly say, “Dakota, wake up.”…… “Dakota, it’s time to get up.” She grumbles and opens her eyes. She was also a little startled about waking up in a strange place.
“Have you heard anything?’ She asks. I shook my head, “No, I haven’t. I yawned. “Let’s find the Luna and my Mom and see what they know.”
She nodded, and we got out of bed. “I need to use the bathroom,” she said. Okay, I’ll wait for you.” We moved as one, and our unity was a source of strength.
