We’re sitting in class, and I can tell no one is paying attention to Mr. Miles. I knew this was going to happen. It has been many years since any rogues thought about entering our territory. Neither the King nor I will allow that to go unpunished.
Mr. Miles notices and decides to stop class to discuss what happened last night. Before his speech, he mind-linked me, asking if he could tell the students the rogues were captured and killed. “Yes, I want them to be comfortable and feel safe. Don’t go into details. Just tell them they’re safe.” I reply through the mind link.
I’m sitting behind Adalynn. My mind keeps going back to when I saw her this morning, and the longer I sit here, the more I go over what happened this morning, the madder I get.
