I was speechless. He’s done and said so many things to me, but I thought we were, I don’t know, making progress. I can’t stop thinking about that last kiss. No one has ever held me the way he did. Stupid, naïve girl.
I showered in my room before heading to Lance and Lucy’s for dinner.
‘This should be fun,’ Phoenix jokes. ‘Ha, yeah, right,’ I said.
Walking into the Lance and Lucy’s, the smell of home cooking greets me. "On my goddess, Lucy, this smells terrific. What did you make?" I smiled as she hugged me.
She put both her hands on my face. “You did very well today. I was very proud of how you held yourself today,” she said with a motherly tone.
