Raindrops leaked out of the sky in their numbers. It was one of those days when the rain came without prior warning drenching all those in its path. The storm knocked trees off their stems making their leaves dance in the whirling breeze.
I sat down on the bed's edge scrolling through my phone bored to my senses. I soon got bored of that as well and lay on the soft sheets listening to the rain as it drummed on the window sill and roof. It had been hours since I last set my eyes on Alice and despite how much I tried to take my mind off her, I couldn't stop wishing she was beside me on this chilly, loud night.
I had nothing important to keep me busy during the day. The day had begun excitedly and I had hoped I would spend the whole day with Alice but as usual, she had ditched me and gone out to meet with that rascal, Brayden. I hated the Rogue with so much passion and didn't trust him enough to let Alice round him. Who knows the evil he has been planning to do with her or has already done to her. I shrugged off the thought as it made me sick. At least I had warned Alice of his treacherousness but she wouldn't listen so what could I do?
Sighing, I stood up to top up my glass with a bottle of whiskey I had opened up earlier before returning to the bed. It had been my companion for the last couple of hours, and such a good companion it had been.
A round of mirthless laughter and cheers from downstairs reminded me that my friends were still around making merry with the girls they had brought back from the clubhouse. My smiles today could be attributed to two of them; Evans and Taylor, who tried as much as they could to cheer me up, and now as I recalled what we went through today, another smile crossed my lips.
A couple of hours after Alice had rushed out early in the morning without as much as a proper goodbye, they had both walked in with a pack of beer in one hand and some snacks in the other. I could still remember Evans' tone when he crashed on the couch when he found out she wasn't around.
"What's she up to this early in the morning?" He had asked.
"Let me guess. Another romantic trip to your archenemy?" Taylor chipped in with a teasing smirk.
"Quit teasing!" I ordered, smacking him lightly on the shoulder. "It's just a meeting with an agenda. You of all people should know better than to make fun of this sort of thing."
"C'mon he was just pulling your legs! But anyway, we got information about an underground club in town. They are available all day and have this provision where you can get lit at any time as they would be girls you can have fun with," Evans explained, flicking his wrist to check the time.
"So if that's where you two are headed, how are we supposed to get in?" I asked, glancing at their fancy outfits.
"Oh, that's not something you should worry about. Just get up, get dressed and we will go and have some fun, ok?" Taylor replied, passing me a can of beer.
"First off, put that thing away. You know the last time I didn't worry about something that was placed in your care, you landed the two of us into huge trouble. I'm not willing to go through any of that again, so I want to see the passes if you have gotten any."
"I know I messed up last time but you don't have to be so unforgettable about it," he replied, reaching into the pockets of his leather jacket for the tickets. "Now you have seen them, would you go up and get ready, or do I need to Skype the club?"
"Very funny," I scoffed. Evans on the other hand found it amusing and chuckled. "But I don't think I can go out anymore. I had planned to spend the day with Alice and now she's gone, I don't feel like going out anymore."
"Would you get over it already?" Evans reckoned. "We haven't had a whole day to ourselves this past week. It's either the pack's duties weigh heavy on us or it's work. And then the goddess blesses us with this opportunity. Do you want to get out of this mood or fling this opportunity in the dirt?"
It was a nice idea. The past week was hectic and I had no plans so I consented. Besides, it would be fun, fun enough to make me forget about all the worries that clogged my head, I hoped.
We then headed to the venue stated on the pass. Instead of what Taylor had described as a common club, it was a private club that was celebrating its launch with a midday party at his mansion. I chuckled as I recalled how wide Taylor's mouth went when we were ushered into the top floor of the mansion.
"Oh my God!" He exclaimed. "This place reeks of money and loads of girls." The music was so loud that we had to converse with raised voices.
"Snap out of it Taylor," chided Evans, who had been silent all this while. "I know you are the youngest among us but don't go around acting immature. Behave as composed as you should."
"Save that sermon for later!" Taylor sneered. He was the wildest of our group. "Guys look around! We are at a party for heaven's sake! I don't know about you, but right now, I'm gonna go find some company."
Evans and I exchanged glances as he stormed off, and after agreeing to reconvene in thirty minutes, we too dispersed.
The floor was packed to the brim with classy dressed individuals of all statuses either reclining on a sofa watching the frenzy or like the greater part of the party, grooving it out on the dancefloor. There were so many people of affluence in the room that I could remember pondering how Taylor had been able to get us passes. But then I realized, well it's Taylor. He was always full of eventually detrimental but momentarily satisfying surprises.
As I gradually got sucked into the rave on the dance floor, I felt a hand slide slowly up my back and rest on my shoulder. This soft arm, plucked strings in my body, concealing her identity until she had fully worked her way into my troubled heart before she is seductively cat-walked in front of me, posing alluringly in a brown glittery gown that barely covered her thighs and exposed her smooth back and arms.
Her blonde unbound hair flung from side to side as she wiggled and twirled, letting my hands rest on her curvy hips which she jiggled her luscious body vivaciously. After minutes of dancing, she announced she was tired and pulled me to two empty seats at the bar fixated at a corner. I knew then and there that I had met my companion for the rest of the day.
Being the experienced charmer I was, I worked my way with her and in no time we were heading into the elevator to get a room. Hardly had the door shut behind us, had she pinned me against the steel wall of the elevator, smooching my lips hungrily and with lust. The only moment I had time to breathe was on the walk to the spare room we were directed to by a guard.
While she worked her sensual magic on me, I had lost all senses. We were both intoxicated with liquor and most of what happened in that room from sucking to nibbling to kissing to fondling and eventually thrusting was enabled by our drunk state.
But Now in a sober mind, and as I thought about it, I felt guilty and slightly justified. Guilty that I had cheated on Alice for the fourth time since she moved in and justified that she was the one who put me in this tempting situation with her absence. If only she were around this wouldn't have happened.
I heard the running shower suddenly switch off and the blonde-haired girl who I had found out was named Theresa stepped out with a towel loosely strung over her flapping breasts and looked around for her clothes.
Yes, she had followed me back home alongside a bunch of other girls which the boys had brought along as well. We had the house to ourselves so they continued the bash right down there in the living room while I had retired upstairs with Theresa.
Theresa was beautiful but as I began to feel guilt after our successive rounds of s*x, her appearance began to disgust me. I concluded it was time everyone dispersed. Besides Alice would be returning anytime soon and the house needed to be quiet.
Beginning with Theresa, I reached under the bed, retrieved her clothes, and flung them at her ordering her to leave before heading down the stairs to break the party downstairs.
