Kenzie POV Kenzie was now wide awake and staring right at the old Beta to the pack she was supposed to be Luna in. Could she really trust him, and would he really protect her? She had so many questions, she was just going to go with it. What was the worst that could happen? She wound up alone? What the hay, she was going to give Tristan a chance at least at friendship for the time being, he was the only person that actually treated her like she meant anything. "Luna, if I may, could you please tell me anything about you, I am so curious it is almost driving me crazy. Your beauty is unparalleled, and your strength goes beyond boundaries. I want to be your friend if you will let me and to be friends. We need to get to know each other. You still don't look like you should travel yet, so how about a round of twenty questions to start our friendship?" Tristan wanted to extend the olive branch after all he wanted to know who his Luna was. She was probably the most fascinating person he had ever come across. "We can Tristan, but....well don't get offended if there are certain things...I might not know the.... Geez sorry such a Spaz, right?" Kenzie wasn't good at social interactions but wanted a friend other, than her dragon and wolf, so she would try. "Okay! I will go first and say what you can, and I won't be mad if you can't! Does that sound alright? Let's start with the basics: name, age, place of birth and like your favorites and stuff!" Tristan was genuinely excited to learn something new from his luna. "Umm...pass?" She had no clue what to say. "I will go first see if it makes you more comfortable. My name is Tristan Mcdure. I am 38 years old and at one time was mated to the love of my life. She died protecting the pack during a rogue attack. Someday the moon goddess will bless me again. If not, we will meet again!. I grew up in the pack, born and raised that is. My favorite color is green. I love alternative rock, um my parents are still alive and probably crazy worried. What else would you like to know, Kenz? I will tell you anything. Just let me in a little about you!" Tristan was begging to get her trust. "Tristan, I have no clue where I come from or about my parents. I know nothing about who I actually am or was. My entire life, I have trained and been known as Agent 1. There was a time in my life I had a handler. He wasn't very loving, but I wish to see him again someday. He was the only dad I ever knew, and he made sure I was alive. As for colors or stuff like that, my wardrobe and life is picked for me. I have never decided on favorites I wasn't allowed. I was made to be an agent and that is all I have ever been allowed to be!" She really didn't know what to say, but she tried to explain the best she could. She wasn't like everyone else, and she never would be. She was a broken little girl turned killer warrior for the agency. "I am so incredibly sorry that your life has been so terrible. No one should have to grow up like that or without the love of a parent or guardian. We can try and figure all those things out for you if you would like. I am your friend now and from here on out we are going to try and help you see and enjoy the little things life can offer." Tristan was desperately hoping she would take the olive branch. "Or I can give you those answers! As long as you hear me out, I will tell you all that I can." Nathaniel, out of nowhere, spoke to Kenzie, who was shocked to see her stand in father and after so many years. "Wha....How? I never thought I would see you again, I thought you'd be gone from me forever. How are you here, and why?" Kenzie, who never cried, was on the verge of historically sobbing her heart out. Oh, how she missed him, the only person she knew from her childhood, someone the agency ripped away from her. She assumed they took him because they knew how she cared for him, like he was her own father. Her dragon, who she hadn't heard from since before the interrogation room, spoke up, "He is your father sweet!" Kenzie didn't even have a response to Lola and could only stare ahead towards Nathaniel. What was her dragon talking about that isn't actually right? Right? "It appears Lola has beaten me to the punch, but she is not wrong. Please, before you get upset or angry, hear me out. I have so many things to tell you and secrets to divulge. I love you and have always loved you. I have done what I could to help, but that isn't much and if you hear me out I hope you can understand. You don't have to forgive me, but at least hear me out." Nathaniel looked at his precious daughter with all the hope she would listen and hear him out. Kenzie was at a loss. She was going to forgive him. How could she not? It doesn't matter what he did to her, he helped her survive hell on earth. She stayed strong because of the little hope he instilled into her. It was useless now because she was rejected. At one time, his hope was all she had to live for. He was actually her father. How they got to where they were she had no clue, but she couldn't help the excitement, knowing she actually had a dad. Someone who knew her and her origins. "I will listen, Nathaniel, and have already forgiven you. How could I not? You helped me to survive and, no matter what, I will forever be grateful." Kenzie whispered to Nathaniel. It wasn't easy for her to express any type of feelings, but she was so ready to try. Was it true did she now have two people in her life that cared, two people that weren't apart from her? She felt a warmth hit her chest and knew it was the little hope she lost trying to return. Could she risk hoping what would come next for her? What was the worst that could happen, and she was ready to say let's just go for it. She could, in the worst case scenario, die or end up all alone like she already is. Her only hesitation was if she let them in, and she began to hope would she survive the fallout of the hope being taken away once more. "Tell me everything Nathaniel, I think it's beyond time for me to know all the truth. My truth. Hopefully, I can move on and have some sort of contentment in the rest of my life." "It's not at all pretty, and you may want to abandon me after you hear of the choices I have had to make. I will tell you everything, but just know I love you so much more than life itself. And you may question how that is possible after everything you have been through your whole life, but you also have a mother and brother I have tried to protect!" Nathaniel quickly got out the ending part so just in case she ran before he could get to the part about how much he loved her. "Um...would you two like to want me to leave? This is so beyond awkward, and I'm not sure what to do or say. I don't want to leave my Luna, but it seems like this is a very personal conversation." Tristan interrupted, clearly feeling way out of place. Kenzie giggled, she had never done that, but she couldn't help. The nervousness and cuteness of Tristan asking what he should do. She knew at some point they would be great friends. He was a good man and wolf. "Wasn't you who just wanted to know about me? This seems to be like the best time and place. Besides, as my new friend, you may need to comfort me if the story gets to rough. Right? That is what a friend would do. I really want us to be friends, Tristan!" She was still half giggling at her new Beta friend. "OK, Luna, only because you asked." Tristan sat right next to her and grabbed her hand, squeezing it for support.
