Looking for the Luna

Tristan POV Never in his life did he think he wouldn't always be the Beta to the Crystal Lake pack, but he couldn't. How do you follow a leader so corrupt he will throw his mate out like a piece of garbage. What does he even care if we find her corpse our Luna is gone because of him, bury a body for what mark it as Agent 1, that dumb alpha doesn't even know her poor wolf gave her a name. She was an asset to the S.P.A. and it seemed that was the only use they had for her. His poor luna! He had already gone to the border. She had left and, to his disbelief, she really wasn't there. In fact, there wasn't a single sign that she had been there. Is it possible she is still alive? No, that's not possible. The warriors beat her before dumping her and he himself witnessed that she was dead. His wolf perked up and decided to put his two cents in "Lift your nose human, I smell her. She must be alive. Go now find her, or I will shift to save her." Tristan crossed the border and kept his nose in the air hoping to catch a sign of his luna and immediately, he caught her scent and took off. It didn't take him long, and he smelled smoke from a fire and saw a cave ahead. He was going to approach with caution. It also contained the smell of his true luna. He slowly entered the cave and, to his disbelief, there his true Luna lay, but she looked completely healed like no one had touched her. She was alive, well, at least breathing. How she didn't wake when he entered he wasn't sure, but he would stay and guard her til she awoke. He had sat in the cave for over a day before he noticed she was finally starting to stir from her slumber. He watched and hoped she wouldn't kill him on the spot or freak out because he was there. After all, he was the one that inflicted the pain that made her die. Or like dead, or I am not even sure what happened. Hopefully, she will at least shed some light on the situation, because Tristan was completely at a loss. "Luna.. I mean Kenzie. It's Beta Tristan, or just Tristan now. I guess I am here to protect you. Please do not freak out, I see you are waking ....please." Tristan all but whispered as gently as he could so he didn't seem intimidating. "Um...Tristan, you said please just let me rest just a little bit longer. Luna is talking, but Lola is still groggy. Thank you please just stay..." That was all she managed to rasp out before becoming unconscious once more. Tristan had no idea what she meant or who Luna or Lola was. Perhaps one was her wolf, but he had no idea and wouldn't until she woke up. He would stay with her until she did. She was gorgeous and looked like an absolute angel when asleep. Her hair was the most unique he'd seen as well. He thought it was a box job at first until he noticed the purple highlights, throughout her midnight black hair went all the way to the root. It was natural. Just who had natural purple hair. She was so tiny. He found the hilarity in the situation that this tiny little woman was the most lethal woman alive, person for that matter. He was the one who called for assistance. He was tired of losing pack members, especially the children. He did his research. When she showed up, he knew exactly who she was and her reputation. No, he didn't know her, he supposed, because even by reputation and rumors, she was not what he had expected. He sat there and debating what knowledge he could ascertain his Luna would be. He feels like she is broken. Could he help heal her even after her mate ditched her for the dogs? "Where are you, Beta, and where is my mate's body? You haven't reported back. I want answers!" The Alphas' stupid voice blared into his mind. "I am not your Beta and have not yet located Luna's body. I will remain out here until I find her and after I am gone, we have been through this! Now no more linking. I will link you if I find something now. Please leave me be you i***t!" Tristan was exasperated by his i***t alpha trying to act like he hadn't told him off earlier. "If you're linked to the Alpha please don't tell him I live. He doesn't want me, so he doesn't deserve to know. I want to finish my assignment and leave.... Please, Beta", Kenzie had woken while Tristan was linking the alpha, and she recognized the glazed overlook. She didn't want her mate to know that she was alive, she wanted to get through the eradication and be gone. Never have to see his stupid beautiful Greek god's face. Ugh! Stupid bond. Why won't it disintegrate? We have already both rejected each other! "Calm down, Kenz, he doesn't know, and he won't know I won't tell him. I am renouncing myself as Beta and will be following you wherever you go. It is my goddess given responsibility to take care of the Luna, and that is you!" Tristan grabbed hold of her hand, to sooth her worries. "Thank you!" Kenzie could only express her gratitude, and now she was just confused. Did someone care about her well-being? Tristan noticed the reserved look on her face and hoped that he could convince her how much both he and his wolf wanted to protect her. Be a shoulder she could lean on and a friend that she apparently needs. He wants so much to be able to help his Luna anyway that he can, even if it means trying to pick up her broken pieces left by his former alpha. "I will not inform him of you being alive, that choice is yours. I will, however, be here for whatever you need now and forevermore. With or without my alpha and pack, you are my responsibility and I take the goddess' orders very seriously. If you would like, I can renounce myself now, and we can just move on." Tristan wanted to assure her that he was only here for her and that his pack and alpha would be left in the dust so he could honor the goddess' wishes. "I can't ask you to do that, Beta. I am nobody and nothing always has been and always will be. No family, all that is left is my wolf and dragon. I am okay with being alone though, my assignments keep me busy!" Kenzie didn't want the Beta to leave his post for her why would he do that for her she thought/ "I will prove to you your worth, Luna, and help in whatever you need! You want to find your roots. Well, I can help with that. I am bound to protect you by the goddess. Do you want to make her mad? I know I honor the goddess with my whole being and I will not go against her will. So, Luna, that being said, I, Beta Tristan of the Crystal Lake pack, now and forever more renounce myself as Beta and do declare my loyalty to Kenzie, the true Luna to the Crystal Lake pack." Tristan knew the alpha would feel the separation and needed to hide the Luna's scent he didn't want them to be found. He would no longer be able to link because it was gone now. His loyalty now lay with his Luna and, unless she decided to return to Roberto, he would never return to the pack that he originated from.
