Her Truth

Nathaniel POV My name is Nathaniel Lavesk X, and I am your biological father, and have always wanted to tell you that! I suppose I should start at the beginning. That is who my parents are and then how and when I met your mother, my mate. Your Grandfather's name was the same as mine, but instead of the tenth, he was the ninth. He was the top general in the Dragon army and was well-loved by everyone. He was the most respected member of the clan aside from the king. He met your grandmother Rain, a Fae, during a war between them and the vampires. Vampires prefer both dragon and Fae blood and have tried to control them for as long as the two coexisted. Your grandparents are still alive, so you know, and miss us all very much. They have been pleading with the king to assist in our release. Before you ask questions, we will get to that. We are still at the beginning. It didn't take very long for my parents, your grandparents, to conceive me and that is all I will say about that. I was to be the first of my kind, a hybrid. In the past, it was forbidden in the Dragon kingdom to cross species, but your grandfather refused to be with any other than his fated mate. So it was allowed by the king because of his reputation and along came me, a hybrid. As I'm sure you will gather, I was tormented, teased and bullied growing up because I was different. When I turned 12, an incident occurred where if it wasn't for your grandmother's magic, I would have died. They searched for anyone who could help and keep me protected. My Dragon wouldn't awaken until I turned 16, and it was unknown if I would ever awaken my magic. The Agency contacted my parents and told them they could help protect me and make sure nothing would happen to me. Your grandparents immediately agreed. They signed a contract for my protection and were told they would have to do a favor for them when the time came. I wasn't bothered again and grew to maturity. Got my Dragon Winston and also gained the elemental magic of fire. I met your mother on a quest I was sent on by the King. The wolves wanted treaties and alliances, so it was his job to sort the situation and choose the packs that aligned closest to their own ideals. It was a new day and age, and they wanted to use me as the first hybrid to bridge the gap between species. The dragons, as you know, have been slowly dying out, and it is because of the biased beliefs species can't cross. She was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen in his life. Your mother was instantly the most important thing I had. She was my heart and soul. Just like your grandparents, it didn't take us long to mate, mark and get pregnant with you. Kendra is your mother's name, if you were wondering. Everything was great, all the way up until the day you were born. We were so, so happy and excited to bring you into the world. The day you were born was the worst of my life, and it's like it was yesterday. She had hard labor, but you came, and you were beautiful purple eyes, and black hair with purple highlights. We only got a single glance and the doctor handed you over to the agency. It wasn't until they took you did we understand the favor they wanted for my protection. I called and begged them to return you that we would do anything. They were not adept at taking care of an infant, so they kidnapped your mother and took her to who knows where and allowed me to nuture you. Like feeding you and changing you. Affection wasn't allowed and if and when I did, I was severely punished. During the period and still up until now, I am allowed to see your mother during her heats. They want us to produce another you, so they can use them just as they have you. We did end up getting pregnant one other time, but thank the goddess, your little brother doesn't have anything, she essentially made him a human. He is stuck wherever it is they keep your mother. You know the rest of the story, when I left and what happened to you from there. I hope you can forgive my choices and your grandparents' choices. We have been trying to get out of the contract since your birth. We haven't had luck even begging our king. "Um...that is a lot I have a mom and a brother? This is just so much, so no matter what, I have to stay with the agency? Can I ever meet my family?" Kenzie was completely floored at the truth, her poor father and mother and entire family. What kind of people, so greedy that they could do this to an entire family? "I know my little one, but I have done the best I could and have tried to protect you the little I've been able to. I was hoping your mate would save you from this life, but it seems he has rejected you. So we need a new plan. This can't continue. I don't have a plan. If you are asking, just know we need one. To get your mother, your brother and both of us out of this mess!" Nathaniel was relieved the truth was out, afraid of the repercussions but ready to move on with life and try to find their freedom. "I'm not sure what Kenzie's plans are after everything that has happened, but what if we took her to the dragon king and implored his help that way. She herself has a dragon spirit, so he should have to look out for her best interests. Like an Alpha to his pack." Tristan butted into the conversation out of nowhere. "He is right, Kenz, we should do that. What do you think? The dragon king is different now the son of the original. Maybe if he saw you and heard what the agency has done, perhaps we could implore his help!" Nathaniel was happy about the suggestion the renounced Beta made. Maybe they all had hope. He tried to keep hope alive in his daughter when he could, and he finally was hoping himself. Hoping for better and a future for all his family. "I agree with you both, let us try the dragon king. What is the worst that could happen? I won't dare to hope for a normal life, but a life without being forced to kill anyone sounds pretty darn awesome to me." Kenzie would go with whatever the two said, she didn't want to lose the two people she just found. A friend and a father. "Did you want to stay, and we help with the rogues, or leave the rogues to your ruddy ex-mate? You appear well, so we can either go for the rogues, eradicate them quickly, then head to the dragon kingdom, or we can just leave for the kingdom now. What say you, sweetie?" Nathaniel couldn't help adding the sweetie part, he was going to enjoy acting and being an actual father to his daughter. "We eradicate the rogues! Too many children have perished. I couldn't live with myself if we just walked away. But please never mention the Alpha to me again. It's too much. I can't take the pain in my heart from him." Kenz was ready for the fight and excited that perhaps one day soon she would be free. Screw that stupid Alpha dead beat mate. She didn't need a mate to save her, she would figure out how to do it herself!
