Chapter 13

Kora's P.O.V

My head is killing me, hell my whole body hurts. Kora, wake up! You won't believe where we are! Rain is purring like a cat in my head. Wolf's can be so odd the way they express themselves. Wait, we are moving. Am I in a car? Yes but not just any car! What is with her. I start to open my eyes and I can see that I am in the back seat of something, the seats are warm and leather and I have a blanket on me. My head is pounding and not from Rain doing her stupid little happy dance, more like someone hit me with a hammer. Hope is awake and dancing to music in a car seat. Where did the car seat come from? "Well good evening babe." Alpha Nickolas says with a big smile on his face. I'm not gonna get used to him calling me that, though it does make me blush. "What happened? Where are we?" I can't help but ask. "Well we are on the way back to my pack in Texas but it looks like someone is getting hungry back there." Alpha Nickolas looks in the rear veiw mirror at Hope. How long was I asleep? I bet she is my boobs are killing me. "I am going to take us all to get something to eat, It's dinner time anyways. Kora any request?" He ask now looking at me. I don't know what to think or say honestly so I just shrug at him. "How about some pancakes! Dude I am so hungry I could eat about 10 of them!" Aaron laughs, I forgot he was with us. I can't figure out where we are, all I can see is a highways and a lot of cars, trucks, and SUV's of all different colors. "Pancakes sound good, Hope can kinda eat them," I say looking out the window. Alpha Nickolas gets off of the highway into a busy city. Being at the Blood Moon pack there isn't much around unless you drive half and hour. They liked being away from other packs and humans.

"Alrighty come on cutie." Aaron gets Hope out of the car seat, it caught me off gaurd since I am only used to Savannah's family picking her up. He puts his over sized hat on her head and it makes her giggle. Alpha Nickolas opens the door for me and holds out his hand. "I won't hurt you, I promise." He says. I smile and take his hand. Cracker Barrel is the name of the place we stopped at. Its a old time looking country store with a big resturant inside. "I need to use the restroom." I say in a whisper to Alpha Nickolas. He lets go of my hand and I walk to the sign that points to the bathroom. After using the restroom and washing my hands and face, I took a minute to look in the mirror. My clothes are all worn and dirty, I can remmber what happened before I ended in Alpha Nickolas' SUV. Rain? Why can't people see you? I don't understand. I remmber my father telling me to careful but I never understood why. Why was Jason so demanding about seeing your eyes? I ask Rain but I can see she wants to tell me but can't. Kora give me a bit longer to gain all my strength then you will know okay, I promise. She says. I have to trust her, our wolf is other half of us. Rain is becoming stronger just by next her mate, that's how we are made. Our mates make us stronger. I wash my face one more time and walk out of the rest room. Alpha Nickolas is still standing in the same place, he smiles at me and reaches out for my hand again. I don't understand why he likes to touch me. My clothes are old and worn out, while his are not. As we start walking to our table I see Aaron holding Hope in his lap, he's letting her play with one of the menus on the table. "Our waiter will be right back, he's getting a high chair." Aaron says handing me Hope. I noticed her clothes are differnt that the ones she said on before I left her with Savannah's mom. Before I can even ask Alpah Nickolas says looking at the menu, "That little monster can sure make a mess in her seat," He laughs and Aaron giggles across the table. "Well I mean why didn't you wake me?" I asked. "Babe you were so tired and besides its just drool, I mean it was a lot but it's nothing us boys couldn't handle." He says with confidence. "Psh speak for yourself I took care of the diaper!" Aaron says dropping his menu. These two took care of my infant without a second thought. Something Even her father wouldn't do. Alpha Nickolas breaks me out of my head, "Do you know what you want?" he ask. "Oh umm I haven't even looked yet." Which was the truth, I was so focused getting Hope latched and covered with the blanket that I forgot to look. Alpha Nickolas helps me look at the menu and turns the pages for me since my hands are busy at the moment.

Our waiter comes to the table bring us drinks. Aaron got a sweet tea and so did Alpha Nickolas, I had a watre and a sweet tea. "I didn't know you if would like it so I got you a water to." Aaron say with a smile. "Do you know what ya'll would like today?" our waiter ask. Aaron orders a buttermilk pancakes with fruit on the top, along with baccon, eggs and toast. Alpha Nickolas gets pecan pancakes along extra sides like Aaron but he gets eggs, baccon and grits. i decided to get the Grandma's sampler pancake breakfast. I know Hope likes to try table food so I got stuff to share with her but the fried apples are all hers. "So, Where is your pack at?" I asked Alpah Nickolas. Aaron seems to be having to much playing with the spoons and Hope to hear my question. Alpha Nickolas takes my hands in his a looks at me with a big grin. "I was wondering when you ask me that, my pack is just outside of Austin Texas. Close enough to the city you can go there as much as you want. I have enough land that my pack members are comfortable." I can't help nnut smile. He is so gentle with his touch, sending electricity up my body, his body is so warm I swear he is a walking fire place. Alpha Nickolas continues, "My pack is Sliver moon pack, silly name but we like it. There is 1800 members in my pack, so live on the pack lands and some live around it" He says just as the waiter bring us the food. My mouth waters like a waterfall, the thought of eating real food again. The boys wasted no time getting into theirs I swear its like their wolfs come forward when they have food. I can't help but giggle and smile at them. Hope tries to eat the small pieces I broke off for her and the boys also shared theirs, I think Hope my have her little fingers wrapped around this two.

After we finish Alpha Nickolas pays and we head to the car, I decided to change Hope's diaper one more time before the ride since we have a few hours to go. Once everyone is in the SUV Aaron is back to driving. "We need to make a stop really qiuck to a*****e," Aaron says looking at me. The store isn't far from the restuarnt and it is a big store. I recongized it, Target! My mom and i used to go here a lot before they died. I haven't been anywhere since I was brought to the Blood Moon pack. Alpha Nickolas gets Hope from the car seat and craddles her in his arms so she can fall asleep. Looking at hims holding her with one arm and my hand in the other is something I always wanted. I don't understand why this man loves my daughter so much. I never thought someone would love her as much as I do. Aaron grabs a cart and we start walking to the baby stuff. Why do we need baby stuff? Aaron starts asking me a lot of questions, "Alright what soap do you like to bathe her with? What brand of Diapers do you like? How many wipes?" I am shocked. These boys want to buy my daughet things and I didn't even ask. "Babe, you and Hope need a few things before we get home, it will be late so the stores won't be open when we get there so we are getting it now." Alpha Nickolas says kissing my forehead. This man doesn't know much about me other than my name and yet he wants to buy us things. I smile and he gives me a nod, I help Aaron put things in the buggy for Hope. Both boys even pick out some new outfits for her, the way they go "OOO," and "AHH," at the clothes is so cute and funny at the same time. Aaron picks out this pick 2 piece outfit with pink flamingos and Alpha Nickolas picks out the only girly star wars outfit and says "It is a must have!"

Before leaving the store I walk to the personal aisle to get razors, shampoo and conditioner, body soap,deodorant and tooth bush stuff, I want to be able to take a bath in the francy tub Alpha Nickolas ays he has. As we walk towards the check out Alpha Nickolas pulls me to the womens clothes, he gives me the nod to go and pick out a few. "It might be a day or two before I can take you shopping for all new clothes so get some here." I haven't been shopping in so long I can't even remmber my actual size. A young women walks up and offers to help, she is human and Alpha Nickolas walks up to me pulling me into a hug. His body langauge tells me that I am safe, with that the young women leads me to the dressing room. "I'm not expecting you to show me anything so take your time. I'll keep Hope busy." Alpha Nickolas says before I shut the dressing room door. I can hear them, they are bothing giggling and laughing, I've never heard my baby giggle so much. Watching him with her makes my heart full of butterflies, I know he is my mate but i still can't shake the fear of rejection. Alpha Nickolas has never seen my full, naked body. What If Jason and Brent are right? Shaking those thoughts out of my head I manage to find a few tops, jeans and one pair of shorts, and two long maxi dress that hide all my bruises and scars. Feeling happy I walk out of the dressing rooms to find Hope competely asleep on Alpha Nickolas' chest while he is just looking at me. He was on the phone but put away once I walked out. "I think we should head back to your pack now." i let out a small giggle at the two sleepy heads. Aaron takes Hope to the SUV and Alpha Nickolas pays for the items with me right beside him. The amount of money he spent is more than I would ever make in a year, maybe even two. "Don't worry about it, your my mate, that is our baby, and you are a Luna now. No more rags for you." He says in a whisper in my ear. I smile and nod as we walk back to the SUV. I noticed Aaron is passed out next to Hope's car seat in the back, I guess I'm riding up front. Alpha Nickolas opens the door for me and waits until I get in to shut it, he climbs into the driver seat and we start towards the highway. Nothing is said for a few moments until I decided to ask him the very qustion I have been dying to ask. "Alpha Nickolas, why do you want someone with as much baggage and damage as I have as your mate? I don't even know how to be a Luna. What if I'm not good at it?" I look out the window to avoid him seeing me drop a few tears. He takes my hand and pulls it close to him before kissing it softly. "Kora, you are my mate, so no more Alpha okay call me Nick or babe or I don't know." He smiles. "You are the one who makes me whole, you make me stronger and I do the same for you. i am not happy about the past you have had but I will not hold it against you either." Hearing those words from him make me feel better. I am still nervous but at least I know that we are safe. Its dark outside and I can hear Aaron snoring, so I decide to take Nick's arm and make myself a pillow and decide to take a small nap. He doesn't seem to mind, i think he is enjoying my touch.
