Chapter 7

Kora's P.O.V

Dancing on my own by Brooklyn Duo, comes on next as we walk to the dance floor, great a slow dance song! I tell Rain my mind but of course she is jumping through hoops in my head. i knew what the song was because I put the playlist togther a few days ago for the DJ tp play, but I didn't tell them order. I'm regretting that now, Nickolas spins me around. I feel air under my dress, my shoes glide perfectly on the floor. He keeps one hand in mine, with our finger enterlocked togther and the other hand on my waist. I put my only free hand on his shoulders. Nickolas isn't as buff and most men his age, but by the spots of grey in his hair i can tell he is a few years older than I am. He's eyes are locked on to mine, I don't think he blink one time we danced. I've never danced with a man other than my father when i was little, it felt free. Not just free but safe, peaceful and happy. He spun me around gracefully, never loosing his grip on my hand. At that moment it seemed like we were the only one people in the room. I forgot where we were. The song ened, our bodies where touching and I felt his hand on my back pulling me closer. I had to look up at him being that i am 5'9 in height, he is a bit taller than I am. I took his hand and led him out of the dinnig hall, I gave the Savannah the look, and she nodded back. Once outside the pack house we walked down to the small lake that I visited often when i need a quiet place to think. i let go of his hand and walked down the boardwalk and he followed. once at the end i let out a sigh, " So your my mate huh?" I asked but I already knew the answer. Nickolas didn't respond, he removed a stray hair from my face and just looked at me, almost like he was trying to see into my soul. I slowly turned away, "Why do you turn away, I'm not going to hit you." Nickolas says softly in a whisper like tone. "I know, it's just.." i paused looking up at the moon, "I've never been like this, I always have to keep my gaurd up." I hated living in fear. But as long as I live her I always will. Nothing was said between us for a few mintues but it was perfect. It's like we didn't need to phyiscally talk to connect. i ran my finger along his hand, his hands were rough, like a true mans hand will feel. "I want you to come back with me." Nickolas says, "You aren't safe here, I saw what that Beta did to you from the door way." i just looked at him. This man doesn't know me, but sees my pain and wants to fix it. i felt a tear fall from my eye, I went to wipe it away hoping he didn't see it. "Alpha Nickolas, I don't understand." My voice started to crack. "I'm not a virgin, I'm a mom at 18 years old." I wanted to cry at the sound of that, that sentence alone brought back painful memories, before I could say anything else Nickolas gently grabs both my hands, enterlocking our fingers. "I know, and I don't care. You and your infant are coming back with me to my pack tomorrow." he says, I can sense the honstly in his voice. I start to smile just a bit, the thought of leaving here, being free. Hope would have a safe place to grow and play. "What is your pack like?" I asked him as he pulls me closer to him. He lets out a soft giggle. "Well, its bigget than this one, Texas is a pretty state. " he says.

Just before I get the chance to ask him something else the sound of footsteps are within earshot. The gamma comes walking towards us, he's a small kid for his age. His relationship with Jason and Brent is built like a need to know bases. "Kora your being reqested in the Alphas office." he states. "Which Alpha is it?" Nickolas asked. I feel the angery starting build up inside him. "I not suppose to say anything else, my job is to bring Kora to the Alpha and nothing more." he looks at Nickolas with a straight face, I knew he didn't know wha the Alph wanted but I knew. " It's alright." I tell Nickolas putting my hand on his chest. I start walking to the gamma, then I feel Nickolas grab my hand. "I'm coming with her then." Nickolas says, no one tried to stop him. Once we are in the elvator the gamma presses the number 3, the offices are on the third floor. I did my best to hide the fear in the back of my mind hoping Nickols wouldn't sense it, since we haven't mated yet I'm not sure what all he can feel. The gamma knocks on the doora nd we hear "Come in," the gamma opens the door and i was planning on walking in alone but Nickolas won't loose his grip on my hand. Not that I wanted him to honestly. Inside the office I see Brent on the couch and Jason is leaning on the front of his desk. I can smeel the alcohol in his office, he had to be beyond drunk. "What do you want Alpha Jason?" I had to formal with him now that he took the postion a few hours ago. Brent has a smirk look on his face and Jason locked his eyes on me. "You heard that?" Brent says from the couch, "She is trying to act all formal, all because Alpha Nickolas is in the room." Brent looks at Jason who hasn't moved. My eyes don't move from Jason, I could hear Nickolas grunt though. My grip on his hand must of gotten tighter. "Alpha Nickolas would you give us a few mintues? We have some things we would like to discuss with Kora." Jason says trying to hide the smirk on his face.

"I'm not walking away from her!" Nickolas pulls me closer to him, I could see that was pissing both the boys off. I took a deep breath and turned to Nickolas, his eyes locked on Jason. "I'll be okay, just go out in the hallway." I say trying to smile. "I'll be just a minute okay." I think he knew I was lying but he did't fight me. Brent gets up and opens the door for Nickolas to walk out, Jason's office was partly soundproof. Nickolas would only be able to hear me scream or something breaking. I felt brave knowing he was outside the door. "What the f**k do you think you are doing girl." Jason says finally getting off his desk, "I thought i made myself clear to you." Goddness the smell of beer was all over him, he was definitely drunk. I tried to walk backs towards the door but only back into Brent. s**t, I was pinned right between them. "I can smell him all over you, did you let him have you to?" Brent was all over my neck, I wanted to scream but i knew that would back fire so I just stood there. "He didn't do anything." I said firmly looking at Brent. "Bet you would have let him though, am I right?" Jason grabs my wrist and starts to turn them the opposite directions, trying to slowly break them. I let out a whimper, damnit just what he likes to hear. "Maybe I should just mark you now then?" Jason says still turning my wirst. "No! You can't!" I started to panic. It's two against one and I am in the middle. s**t they have me pinned. Jason and Brent laugh, Jason is laughing so hard it loose his grip on my wrist. I know Nickolas hasnt heard anything yet. While they are distracted i attempt to make my way to the door only be caught by Jason again and this time he pins me against the wall, slamming my head against a picture. I must of broke it, my vison got fussy and blood drips from the top of my head. Jason has my wirst again but this time my arms are pinned behind my back. "You thought you could get alway from me?" Jason says breathing down my neck. He's directly behind me. Damn now I'm really stuck. "Jason if you hurt me I'll scream and you Know Alpha Nickolas will hear me!" I stated hopeing that would get him off, but it did the opposite. "So what, you think he actually cares about you? haha don't make me laugh!" Jason says. "No one wants you Kora, no man will treat you any better than we do." Brent says getting up. This is like a game for them. taking turns with me. Jason and Brent switch places but my body is still pinned to the wall with my arms crossed behind me. Brent comes up behind me and runs a free hand down my neck, to my shoulder, the my arms, down to my hips, and lastly my ass. Sending a sicking shiver down my body. "Well you want to scream, let me give you a reason." Brent takes my right wirst and twist it so fast I hear a crack, the pain is so much I couldn't help it. Then he grabs my arm and throws me against the ground. Before I can get up the office door flings open and there in the door way is Alpha Nickolas. "We're done for now, you can have her." Jason says taking more sips from his drink, Brent is next to him laughing. I'm trying to hide the tears from them but I can't feel my wirst. Nickolas pulls me up from behind and stands in front of me trying to protect me from them, little does he know they already got what they wanted. Nickolas said nothing as he picked me up and walked away.

Savannah's, I need to get to Savannah's I thought. Once we are clear of Brent and Jason, Nickolas puts me down and takes my broken wirst in his hands, I let out a whimper. "I'm taking you to the clinic, that needs to be rest and wrapped up." Nickolas says. "No, no I can't go there, I need to get to Savannah's house." I said in between sobs. I knew he didn't understand and honestly I was in to much pain to explain. I took his hand a walked to Savannah's house. I knew he wanted to ask but I was glad he didn't. i saw an omega in the enterance of the pack house. "Please mind link Savannah, tell her its important and I need to go to her house." I said to her. I couldn't get Savanah myself. Nickolas looked confused and pissed. A few mintues later Savannah was walking towards us. "Oh holy s**t what did they do now!" Oh she was mad, "Jesus Kora they broke your wirst, damn near sprand the other one!" she said. I didn't need to say anything for her to understand. after looking at my injuries she noticed Nickolas stand behind me, "Oh! sorry i didn't see you Alpha Nickolas." She apologized. He didn't seem bothered by it, but she could tell he wasn't leaving. So we made our way to her house. Once we got inside i saw her mother and father waiting for us, sh emust of told them. "Where is Hope?" I asked. Amy answers,"She is asleep baby, come here let me see what they did to you this time." I knew at that point Nickolas had the look in his eyes. Amy was a nurse at one point in her life at a hospital in town, "Well the right one is broken so I'l have to reset it back in place before I can wrap it, but the left one is just a spran, it wil be better in 24 hours." She says. She goes into the hall closet and gets her medical box, she pulls out some pain pills, bandages, and medical tape. "Alright dear take this, this going hurt but do not pull away from me." she says handing me a pain pill an some water once Nickolas puts me on the counter, i mist weigh nothing to him. Amy gives him the nod to help hold me still, so his arms wrap around me holding me still while savannah hold my arms still for her mom. Amy pulls and pushes my bones back in place so I burred my face in Nickolas chest to cover up my screams. It hurt like a b***h, I even shedd a few tears. Amy wraps my wirst tightly in bandage with tape. I started to feel dizzy, Amy warned that would happen so Savannah took me to her room to change and fall asleep. i was in so much pain I competely forgot Nickolas's was still there. "Savannah I.." i started to say with tears falling from my eyes. "Shhh I'll take care of it." she says wiping away my tears, she pulled the covers up to my shoulders and closed the door, I heard her tell Alpha Nickolas that they needed to talk as they walked away, I closed my eyes and fell asleep. I was in to much pain to fight the pills.
