Handsome And Mysterious

1241 Words
My mother carried a tray that held the scotch and glasses. I walked behind her carrying the small bucket of ice. Once we set everything down on the table between the two sofas, we stood to meet our mysterious guest. This guy couldn't have shown up at a better time, I thought. A young man that looked to be in his early to mid 20s stood by the front door talking to Bobby. I observed his Godlike figure as he introduced himself to my mother. His hair is as black as coal. He stood between 5 /6 and 5/8. His body was quite buff, not like someone that has overdone it with steroids, but buff, as in one hundred percent all natural god-like muscles. He reached out to shake my hand, his warm Amber eyes sparkling in the light that lit the room. His hand felt so good in mine. He stared at me for a moment, grabbing a tissue from the box on the table before ever so gently holding my face in his hands and dabbing the fresh blood that poured from my nose. I peered into his eyes for a moment. It was as if I had dropped off the face of the Earth and was lost. Before realizing the pure horror that etched his face, I quickly recoiled from his touch. Oh my, I do apologize, I didn't get any blood on your shoes did I? Nah, just your drool, he replied with a grin. My face turned crimson red.I get nosebleeds a lot. I rambled off to him. Thank you kindly. I'll go take care of myself. It was nice to meet you mister, I said. He squinted his eyes and his eyebrows furrowed before his mouth gave me a sideward quirk. He stretched his hand out to me. Carter Kincaid he said. Nice to meet you, Mr Kincaid, I said before turning to leave. When I quickly realized, I never told him my name. Oh, I said as I spun around almost to fast, to meet his questioning gaze. My name is Emma Irene. He shook my hand, smiling as if nodding and with approval. I then turned to go clean the remainder of the blood from my nose. Bobby glared at me with disdain. I sat in the bathroom for a few more moments than needed. What was that about I thought to myself. That man was dreamy. Yes. Oh God, I made such a fool of myself, practically drooling on his shoes, but oh my, the way he smelled it was like heaven. Here I thought he was intrigued by me but he was confused by the blood that was dripping from my nose. I shook the lustful thoughts from my head and made my way back into the living room. Bobby starts to ask Mr Kincaid if he would like a glass of scotch when Mr Kincaid cuts him off. I apologize for coming like this but I couldn't reach you by phone the other day. When we had spoke on the phone about your services, I thought over the terms and decided I wouldn't be needing your services. He came all the way out here just to tell Bobby to his face that he didn't need his services. I thought to myself that it was sketchy, but ballsy I liked him more and more. I couldn't help but stifle a grin when I saw Bobbys' reaction to Mr. Kincayde's words. Bobby nearly choked sitting down his glass and then scooting to the edge of his seat, seeming more serious than before. He asked, is there anything I can do to change your mind? Well, Bobby, I know you handled all of my late father's accounts. He always said you were a great accountant, but I'm opening my own firm from that of my family's business. I cannot afford to hire you with there still being talk about my family's firm accusing you of theft and whatever. So I'll need to find and pay a lawyer to settle this matter honestly once and for all. Lawyers are extremely expensive and I have been doing some asking around my late father's wife. I have reason to believe she stole a great deal of money from the business and tampered with my living will. Bobby's eyes widened as if realization and horror washed over him. Yes, I see I too suspected her when I lost my job back then, Bobby said. If you are looking for a lawyer, my wife is a damn great one. She knows the law better than anything," Bobby replied quickly. Well, it's about time this a****** gave my mother some type of compliment, I thought to myself. Mr Kincaid looks as if he is thinking it over when he finally says alright I'll give her a chance, but there's a lot of important information in the files that I have collected over the years.. You will need to start looking into this matter tomorrow. The files are not to leave the office and you are not to make copies of these files or photos, he says to my mother. Another thing, Bobby, if we are going to do this, we need to be careful. The last man that crossed Valerie wound up dead in a dumpster three blocks from here, actually, Mr Kincaid said. That's what I heard, Bobby replied, clearing his throat. The look on Bobby's face said he knew more than that, I thought to myself. Not a word gets out and if anyone asks, we haven't seen or spoken since the old days, Bobby says. Mr Kincaid nods in agreement. Emma, have you finished your school work?, my mother asked me. Bobby eyes me and says, you need to be getting off to bed now it's getting kind of late. Yes Mother, I finished all of it, I lie. You should really go to your room while the adults are talking, Bobby says. I stand to take my leave. When Mr Kincaid asks how old are you? I turned around to face him, glancing at Bobby as if asking for permission to speak. Answer the man's question, Bobby says. 17, I said, looking into his eyes that seemed darker than before. Have you ever worked anywhere? He asked, No sir, I said. My face turned red. Kincaid nods and looks at my mother and Bobby. If it's all right with you all, I'd like to give her a job if she will take it. Mmm.... take it I would, I thought lustfully to myself, forcing myself to shake those thoughts from my head, giving him a friendly smile. Summer is just right around the corner and I won't have a secretary during that time due to her maternity leave. Before then, I can have Emma trained for the position, Mr Kincaid says. Before I had a chance to reply for myself, Bobby said "She'll take the job". It's about time she took some responsibility around here, Bobby says. I rolled my eyes, agreeing to take the job. Mr Kincaid smiles, good I'll see you tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. Bobby will drop Emma and Kathy off at the new firm. I'll introduce you both to Monica, Mr. Kincayde says. Yes, sir, of course, Bobby says" and I nodded in unison with my mother. I thanked Mr.Kincayde for the job and said good night, as I took my leave.
