First Day On The Job

Emma: I woke to the first morning light peeping through my bedroom curtains. I stretched my arms and legs and rolled over, hearing paper crinkle underneath me. I raised up to see my math work. I must have fallen asleep while doing my homework last night. Realization dawned on me and i looked at the clock. It was six thirty in the morning. I didn't have to be at Mr.Kincaydes office until ten this morning, but there were three of us that had to get ready and only one bathroom. I decided to go ahead and get myself ready. Thinking about what I'd be wearing on my first day at the office, I pared into my very dull closet. An outfit I had bought last year for my high school dance still hung in the back of my closet untouched. I never got to attend the dance because Bobby had business to attend to that afternoon and he was the only one with a car. I pulled the royal blue dress from the back of my closet and pulled the pair of flats i bought to go with it from the box at the top of my closet. Holding the dress up to me, I decided it would be the best thing to wear. The dress wasn't very fancy. It looked more for business than dancing anyhow. I made my bed and put my homework away. Laying my dress and flatts on my bed, I pulled open my top drawer, thinking white would be too bright to wear under my dress. I selected my black bra and panties. I laid all my clothes on my bed and grabbed my towels and washcloth and headed to the bathroom. I let the shower get warm while i brushed my teeth. As soon as I was finished, I stepped in the shower, letting the warm water wash over me, soaking my hair. I reached for my shampoo and made sure to message it into my hair good before washing it once more with shampoo. After shampooing and conditioning my hair, I used my favorite floral body wash. After shaving and washing my body, I got out and wrapped my towel around me. I wrapped my hair up in a towel and grabbed the hair dryer. I opened the bathroom door and peeked into the hallway to see if anyone else was awake. Not a soul was heard. They must still be asleep. Before leaving the bathroom, I grabbed my mom's makeup from the bottom drawer in the bathroom. Peeking out the bathroom door one more time to see if anyone was awake, I took off at a sprint, running to my bedroom. Shutting and locking my bedroom door behind me, I started drying my body off. I took the towel off my head and hand dried my hair the best I could before brushing out any of the knots. I applied some product to my hair to tame its frizziness. Brushing the product through my hair, I plugged in the hair dryer. Drying as much of my hair as I could, I sprayed some hairspray on it to keep it lying down. My hair is naturally wavy but very thick and frizzy and it is hard to keep under control at times. Once I was satisfied with my hair, I applied some light brown eyeliner and neutral lipstick. I dabbed very little shimmering eye shadow on my eyelids, and faded it in with a sponge. I had never really worn makeup before, so I went light on it. I didn't want mom and Bobby noticing, but when I was finished, even I could tell I was wearing makeup. The makeup didn't look bad, it actually made me look more beautiful than ever. I put it on ever so lightly but it made all of my beautiful features show more radiantly. I put my bra and panties on and slid myself into the royal blue dress. I ran my fingers through my hair, letting it fall down my back. Looking in the mirror, the dress was shorter than I intended it to be. Just as I was about to change my mind about wearing it, a soft knock came from my bedroom door. I stepped toward the door knowing the soft knock had come from my mom. Emma, honey it's just me. I wanted to make sure you were up and getting ready, i heard my mother say. I opened the door and my mother's eyes went wide. My mother pushed me back into my room and closed the door behind her. I stared at her for a moment. Emma, what on earth are you doing? You can't wear that, Bobby might get mad. She says. She looks me over once more before she smiles at me, beginning to cry. I grabbed her hands, trying to calm her. I gave her a hug. Shh calm down mom, everything is gonna be okay, but if you walk out of here crying Bobby is really gonna think something is up, i tell her. I glance back at my clock, seeing it's now eight thirty, mom has only thirty to forty-five minutes to get ready. You don't have very much time to get ready. You had better go get cleaned up and dressed, I told my mother. She grabs my chin and kisses my forehead. You look very beautiful honey, but be careful Bobby might not like you making yourself noticeable, she says to me. I nodded my head in understanding before she left my room to get ready. Once she was gone, I eyed myself in the mirror once more. I did look beautiful. I grabbed my purse and stuck my wallet inside, before grabbing my flatts and sliding them on over my thin flat cut socks. I made my way out of my room into the kitchen. I overheard Bobby talking in the other room, he was on the phone with someone. I heard him say he would be sure to be there in fifteen minutes. I thought he was supposed to be taking mom and me to Mr.Kincaydes' office. I grabbed some orange juice from the fridge and grabbed a small glass from the cabinet. The glasses were on the second shelf in the cabinet and I stood on my tippy toes to reach them. I barely grasped a glass with my fingertips when I heard a grunt come from behind me. Startled, I spun around, almost dripping the glass, to find Bobby eyeing me up and down. He looked at me with a sinister look before stepping closer to me. Maybe I was right, you do need to be treated like a grown woman, he said. I c****d my head to the side in questioning. Oh come on Emma, you think I'm stupid. I saw how you looked at Kincaide last night, he said, stepping closer to me. He leaned in and whispered in my ear," You want to be f*****, don't you? I can f**k you and show you what it's like to be treated like a woman, he said as he slid his hand up my dress. I quickly shoved him away in disgust. My face was now red and my eyes began to water. Just as he was about to walk toward me again, mom walked into the room. I turned around to finish pouring my orange juice. I heard her pause for a moment before asking if everything was okay. I turned around, nodding behind my glass of orange juice. Mr.Kincaide is needing me to make a run for some files this morning. He has a car waiting for the two of you out front. He looks at us both and does not mess this up for me. Kathy, it's nice to see you in your business clothes again, Bobby said. Thank you, my mother replied to him. We both grab our purses and start to head out the door. My mother is already opening the front door, eager to leave. I headed for the front door when Bobby grabbed me by the wrist. Believe me, when I say I'll have you before kincayed even notices you and you will enjoy the way ill makes you feel, he says before i pull away from him, running out the door after my mom. Mom and I descended the stairs of the complex. Waiting in front of the building was a black escalade. The driver stepped out of the car to walk around and open the doors for us. Mom and I both slid into the back of the vehicle. We started to drive off when the driver asked if we were hungry or perhaps wanted a coffee. It's still early and Mr. Kincaide insisted on you both getting something to eat, ill have to stop and get his coffee on the way anyhow, the driver said. My name is Michael. By the way, I run small errands for Mr.Kincaid. I looked at my mother and we both decided we would have a coffee as well. Michael stopped at a coffee shop in the city and we all went inside to get our coffee. We approached the register and I ordered a large mocha latte and my mother ordered a large vanilla latte. The driver then looked at the lady behind the counter and said, I'll have the usual make Carters up aswell please. I'm sure they came here alot Carter Kincaide must be well known in the city. The barista was a beautiful bubbly blond with green eyes. She handed us our coffees and gave Michael a cup carrier. Tell Carter I said hello and I missed him, the bubbly barista said to Michael. Michael nodded and wished her a good day and we all went back to the vehicle. My coffee was still very hot so i took small sips to allow it to cool so I could fully enjoy its flavor. We parked in front of a small two-story brick building. Michael descended the car with Mr.Kincaid's coffee in his hand. He opened our door and once we were out he handed me Mr.Kincaid's coffee. Just walk on through the two double doors there, Michael said, pointing at the front of the somewhat large building, Monica is waiting for both of you as we speak. We both walked through the two double doors at the front of the brick building. Two men dressed casually sat in the lobby of the entrance. One sat reading a magazine, the other sat scrolling on his cell phone. They both watched mother and I closely as we walked in and stopped at the front desk. A tall slender woman with brunet hair and green eyes greeted us from behind the desk. Hello, my name is Monica. I'll show you around the office today and get you both settled in, she said. You must be Emma, she said, gesturing toward me. Yes Mama, that's me, I say. Okay great, I will start training you immediately, but first Mr.Kincaid would like to speak to you, she said. Mr.Kincaid wants to speak to me? Yes, is there a problem? Monica asks. Oh no, there's no problem. I just thought Mr.Kincayde would be meeting with Bobby, i say. No, he works from his office here most days, she says with a sideward grin. Here you are. This is Mr.Kincaid's office. When you are finished here please meet me in the office across the hall, Monica said, before walking away. I stepped through the double glass doors. The office wasn't very large, but quite spacious. A large desk was placed in the center of the far side of the room and a door was to the right of the desk. The floor of the office was cream colored plush carpet. The furniture in the office matched the color of the carpet. The walls were solid white and there was a soft light that lit the room. Mr.Kincayde stood from behind his desk to greet me. He stood there staring at me for a moment, scanning my appearance from head to toe. He gestured for me to have a seat in front of his desk. I nodded my head, unable to make eye contact with the handsome man. I must look ridiculous to him in this dress,I thought to myself. I felt my face begin to get warm as my cheeks turned pink. Here's your coffee your driver said you would be expecting. I said setting the coffee on his desk. Yes thank you, I wanted to speak to you and go over a few things before you started working, he said. Like an interview i asked him. No, we are past the interview. This is more like a verbal contract. A statement of all the rules and regulations, he says. He pauses for a moment as if thinking something over. I'm sorry that must have been a stupid question. My once pink cheeks turned a bright red. Ugh, I was practically screaming at myself now, I was making myself out to be a fool. Mr.Kincayde looked at me as he was about to smile when a low chuckle escaped his throat before he sat up and cleared his throat. No not at all, I should have given you more of a heads up before you came in today, he said. Okay, so let's start with our privacy policy. Whatever happens here at the office stays at the office. Any conversations or meetings you attend stay between you and I. Any personal information you come across stays personal; you do not leak any information from files or this business in general. The most important rule I have here is always feel free to address me with any concerns you have, but please do not spread word about your personal life here. Here at the office you will address me as your boss, not your friend or anything else than a superior. Monica can fill you in on the rest. You will have your work cut out for you today, so I won't keep you any longer, he said. I stood thanking him for the job again. I reached out to shake his hand before leaving the office. His touch, the way his hand felt in mine made my mind squander farther into a blissful lust. From the moment I saw him behind the desk, the heat started to build between my legs. I turned to walk to the double doors to exit his office when one of the men from the lobby came through the double doors. He addressed Mr.kincaid by Carter. Before I left the room, I could hear them talking about Bobby. Monica greeted me as I stepped out of Mr. Kincaid's office. Are you ready to get started Emma, Monica asked. Yes mama, I replied. She took me to another office catty-cornered from Mr.Kincaids office. Monica prepped me with paperwork and showed me how to file it in alphabetical order. There were multiple types of files that went into different sections. There was a section for financials, tax reports, employee reports and so on. Mr.Kincaid didn't lie when he said I had my work cut out for me. Monica started me out slowly, showing me how to handle the paperwork and file it first. Tomorrow she said she would teach me how to set up appointments and meetings and handle the phone calls.
