Carter Kincaid: When I spoke to Emma about the rules and my policies she seemed to understand but she still had that dazed look in her eyes. She lowered her head as if she was embarrassed to speak to me, but I saw her look me head to toe. She wanted me as much as I wanted her and I knew it. Maybe one day I'd give her what she desired. Just as Emmma was leaving my office Joey, one of my old friends and bodyguard came in to give some entail to Bobby. Emma wasn't completely out the door before Joey spoke about Bobby so I know she heard who we spoke of. When Bobby called me this morning and said he had some other clients to take care of before he came into the office I knew he was lying. He 76 didn't work anywhere he said he did. The chance to catch him had come sooner than I thought it would. Joey had said that a few of his guys had followed Bobby to a warehouse downtown. Bobby never got out of the car, instead a woman got in the car with him. We took pictures of the two of them sir. I have my men following them now, Joey continued to say. Good send me the pictures and keep me updated on what happens. Within a matter of seconds my phone chimes and I receive the photos. A woman with blond hair wearing a baseball cap and a green carhartt and dark denim jeans got into the car with Bobby. The woman wasn't young but looked to be in her late forties. My phone chimed again and more photos came through. Joey's guys followed Bobby and the woman to a high end motel in the city. Bobby escorted the woman into the building up to the 2nd floor. Joey's men were able to capture a few photos of them in the room they occupied. A photo of Bobby closing the shades to their room showed the same blond haired woman in the background unbuttoning her top. Something in the photo caught my eye though. I pulled the photo up on my laptop and zoomed in on the woman's face. Her features looked familiar and she obviously wore a wig. My mind pondered for a moment before realization hit me. Valorie! That explains it all; they both are working together, the body being found so close to Bobby's current residence. They were having an affair the whole time. What I couldn't understand is what Kathy and Emma have to do with this. I'd have to find a way to confront them soon. If they didn't have anything to do with this and I could trust them I would have to tell them the truth. In the meantime I will act as if I know nothing until I have more evidence.
Bobby: Last night was a nightmare. I knew at some point I would lose the ability to keep both Kathy and Emma in line, but I didn't expect Emma to lash out the way she did. One thing for certain she would be harder to break than her mother. Kathy was easier than i thought she was all i had to do was swoon her and she was pleading at my feet before i knew it. When I first met Kathy it wasn't by accident she was handling a court case for Robert Kincaid. At the time i worked for Robert at his firm. The court case that had been opened was supposed to stay quiet, but I was paid by Valorie to do whatever it took to keep that case from hitting the courtroom. Kathy was a hard woman to get to submit. I tried everything to get her to drop that case but she wouldn't let it go. I had to take drastic measures to keep the information she held from going public. For months i tearized her with threatening phone calls and false information about the case. I even hired a few thugs to roughen her up. The day I ran into her at the library I had hoped to grab the information I needed when the papers flew around the room, but she was quick at grabbing all the papers. The one paper I managed to grab had a witness statement and the name of the witness. Valorie came up with a plan to handle the witness. She acted as an opposing business and called him from a burner phone and gave him a place and time to meet. When no one showed and he went to leave the shop he was dragged off into an alley by a few ex-cons I employed to kill him and toss his body in a dumpster. The guys I highered messed up though they weren't supposed to move the body close to the area I lived in, but the cops never came to question me so I assumed I was in the clear. Valorie and I had been seeing each other long before her and Robert met. Valorie and I had first met in vegas when we were kids. I picked pockets for a living, she sold stolen property. Valorie found a way to sell things without them being hot. She would whip the cereal numbers from the items. We both went from small petty thrift to robbing high end homes and business employees. Robert was one of the wealthiest men in San Francisco he owned several companies including the casino in vegas. When Valorie and I learned of Robert I went to him for a job. I didn't have much of an education but Val was also good at making up fake identities. I didn't have a diploma or GED but I wasn't stupid either. I knew how to con people and I knew my way with women. I only had eyes for Valorie, even though my job was to swoon and screw other women and rip them off. Valorie had my heart. This gig was taking longer than I hoped it would. It's been several years since Robert had already died, thanks to me. We had already stolen loads of cash and I spiked Roberts coffee with poison and helped Valorie push her way in the will before doing so. Valorie had me wrapped around her finger I will admit. She made all the calls and I followed her orders. Valorie didn't want to end this charade, but I was growing tired of this job. I wanted to move on to the next big thing. I hoped to get my hands on Emma before moving on though. Emma was nothing like her mother, she was better, and even though I played the role of a trustworthy husband in front of Emma. She didn't know of the bargain her mother made with me to keep her alive. Emma was feisty and young, she hasn't experienced a man's touch yet and I know I can take her for myself and make her enjoy every inch of me. There are some things Valorie didn't deserve to know and my thirst for Emma was one of them. I'd be sure to have my way with Emma before Valorie and I had to leave. Today when I met up with Valorie I told her of Carter's plans. This was what I dreaded for a long time now. I knew sooner or later we would get caught. We would have to leave soon if we were going to make it out of here before the heat picked up. Valorie, we have to leave. I think we should leave Val tonight if not we are going to get caught. What makes you think we are going to get caught Bobby? You know I'm always careful and very precise with the way I handle things. Even if Carter is investigating things he won't ever find anything his main lead is dead and since I co-own the firm there is nothing he can do, Valorie said. Valorie, even though you co-own the firm there is probably a copy of the original deed floating around somewhere and Robert probably had enough evidence to put us both away for life. A wealthy man isn't stupid enough to throw those kinds of accusations our way without having some kind proof stashed away, I tell her. Please Valorie think about this, I plead with her. Are you just going to stand there and lecture me all day or are you going to please me, Valorie said. I gave her a glare hoping she took this matter more seriously. Okay, okay I promise to give it more thought right after you give me the pleasure I undoubtedly deserve, she said. That was enough to put my mind at ease for now, I thought.
Carter abKathy: The case file that Mr.Kincaid had me going through was nothing that I hadn't seen before. I debated on approaching Mr.Kincaid and telling him the truth but i know at the end of the day Bobby would find out. When Bobby and I first met I was stupid enough to believe he was one of the good guys. After a year of being together his true colors showed. I was working on a very quiet case for Robert Kincaid, a man that was going to pay me generously when I was finished with the outcome. I had gotten so far into that case I started receiving threatening phone calls and letters. One day on the way home from work a few men had beaten me half to death, Emma had to stay with the babysitter for two weeks. Emma thought I was on a business trip. I never did tell her the truth. Bobby led me on to believe he cared and loved me. I was in such a fragile state I believed every word he said. I was so stupid back then, my daughter's life now depends on me keeping my mouth shut. Over the past several years I have endured nights of terror and hours of pain. Bobby wasn't at all honest, gentle or loving; he took what he wanted by force. This morning when I saw Emma dressed so beautifully, with her hair and makeup done I feared what Bobby might do. When I walked into the kitchen Emma looked as if she was crying. I wondered if he had done something to her. Last night I was surprised at Emma’s courage. While I was proud of Emma I was also terrified of what Bobby might do. After giving it some thought I decided to go speak with Mr.Kincaid about the truth. I had hidden a flash drive in a false floorboard in my old home that Bobby forced me to sell. Bobby didn't know I kept all my work on a flashdrive in case something happened to the hardcopies. I stopped caring whether I'd get paid for my work or not a long time ago. Bobby got me fired from the law firm I worked at by spreading rumors that I sold out a witness on a case for some quick cash. That witness was the only one I had for the case Robert Kincaid had me look into. That same witness ended up dead just a few blocks from where we currently lived. I stood from my chair to go find Monica, the woman that showed us around the building earlier. On the way out of the small office I occupied I noticed two men watching me. I approached the desk that Monica occupied and the two men followed me. Monica I have a question for Mr.Kincaid about a file I found. I tried to whisper to Monica just in case one of these men worked for Bobby. Monica looked at me before pursing her lips together. Hmm… let me see, I may be able to help you, she said. out, I looked at her once more with my eyes glassed over pleading. Monica, please there is something I need to speak to Carter about, I whispered to her quietly. She looked at her watch before nodding and walking me back to Mr.Kincaids office. Kathy it is lunch time would you like for me to order you some food, Monica asks. No Emma and I packed lunch today thank you though. Monica nods before knocking and letting Mr.kincaid know I wished to speak to him. Im finally going to shed some light on the darkness that surrounded us all.
