Kathy: Connor gave me and Michel an address and room number to go see Emma. I couldn't wait to go see Emma its only been a few hours but I really hopped she was okay with her living situation right now. Im sure that she is more than happy considering she will be away from Bobby. Emma doesn't have a good cell phone, Bobby gave her a track phone awhile back but she left that at the apartment. Connor gave me a large smart phone to give to Emma, he said to tell her i got it for her as a early birthday gift. Emma isn't a stupid girl though she knows I don't have money for these kinds of things. I'll just tell her it is a company phone. It would be more believable than me buying it for her. Once we got to the hotel Micheal and I got onto the elevator to go to the top floor. Two security guards stood in the hallway of the top floor just outside the elevator door. Two more security guards stood outside Emmas room and another buy the fire escape door. Connor want kidding about keeping Emma safe when we reached her room the guards would only allow me to enter. Connor had told the men that no males were allowed inside Emmas room. I think that order was more of a jealousy thing, I knew Conor had eyes for my baby girl. Although Emma isn't a baby anymore she will always be my baby girl. I know Emma has eyes for Connor as well and I cant stop the inevitable I just hope she knows her boundaries and respects herself. Inside Emma room it was more less like a room and more like a home. The kitchen was fully equipped with cooking utensils and food. Monica and Emma stood in the kitchen cooking. Emma was cutting a lemon into wedges. Hey mom she said as she ran around the long bar in the kitchen. Emma embraced me in a big hug. Emma, are you comfortable here? Im sorry to throw all this on you at once, I say. Yeah Im comfortable mom its a bit more than I expected but Im alright with that for now, she says. As long as you are okay Im fine, I say. So what you guys cooking?, I ask. Well I have never ate octopus before, but Monica said its delicious so she is showing me how to cook it with some other stuff. Mmm... that sounds good I haven't ate octopus in a while its amazing with lemons and herbs, I say. Will you stay for dinner, Emma asks? I cant tonight I just come by to check on you and see how you are doing before heading home. I am going to tell Bobby you are at a friends house. Oh about that, Monica cut in. I have a niece that is just a year older than Emma and she stays just on the upside of town. I can give you her address and if Bobby asks where Emma is you can tell him she is there, Monica says. Are you sure I mean? What if Bobby goes looking for her or something happens like it did at the apartment?, I ask. You done gotta worry about that I hired a few guards to act like her parents just incase Bobby comes around, Moica says reassuring me. Okay as long as you are sure I just don't want anyone else getting hurt, I say. Would you like a glass of wine?, Monica asks. Nah I must be going before it gets to late, I say. Kathy you got time to stay for dinner its only four in the afternoon. Connor is on his way over he is going to have dinner with us all. He said he has some good news for all of us and wants you to be here to hear it, Monica says. Emma starts setting the plates and silverware out at the table, and I messaged Bobby letting him know that I am eating dinner with Emma and her friend and will be home at five thirty. I thought about it and this is the first time Emma will be having dinner with a group of people she seems to be comfortable with. Emma looks at me hesitant for a moment. What kind of wine do you like mom?, she asked. I walk around the counter to look at the selection of chilled wine that was set in the fridge. Hmm... lets try this one if I remember correctly its a sweet red wine, I say grabbing two glasses and the bottle of wine. I poured two wine glasses half full and slid one in front of Emma. She looked at me for a moment before sliding it in Monicas direction. Oh no Emma I poured that for you, I say. Emma looked at me shocked for a momment. The first drink ever should be with me after all I know you haven't gotten to do many things a normal teenager would do. You can have fun just as long as you stay in this hotel room while you drink and done do anything too crazy, I say. She looked at me before giving me a big hug and kiss on the cheeck. Your the best mom ever and for what its worth if I was allowed that freedom I wouldn't have the self-respect and knowledge I have now, she says. I returned her hug and kisses and warned her to drink slowly. I watched her take her first sip of wine. It tastes like grape juice with a bitter aftertaste, she said. Yes its a sweet red wine made from the same concord grapes that juice is made from, I said. Just remember its not juice and sip it slowly or you will have a terrible headache in the morning, I reminded her laughing as she guzzled the rest of the glass. Okay Ill wait a little bit before having another glass, she said. Monica is setting all the food in the center of the bar with tongs to grab the food off the plates and she sets a wine glass in front of a plate. A knock come at the door and Emma went to answer it. When she opened the door I watched the interaction between her an the man at the door. Connor was about the same hight as Emma just a few inches taller than her five-six figure. She stared at Connor with glazed over eyes. Maybe I shouldn't have poured her half a glass of wine, I thought watching them. Emma enter twinned her fingers and swayed her hips looking at Connor with big puppy dog eyes. Come on in she said taking his office coat and hanging it on the coat rack. Connor looked at her in amusement, before looking at me mouthing the words "is she drunk?". I laughed, giving the hand motion just a little bit. He shook his head laughing as he, came to the door. Emma turned and pulled a bar stool out from the bar and took her seat. She sat with her chin resting in the palm of her hand. Her eyes glazed over but she had her sights set on the only man in the room. She looked at him with a mix of emotions. Connor caught her gaze and gave her a smile. Emma, are you hungry?, Connor asked. Mmhmm, Emma hummed in response. Monica laughed. Only half a glass of wine made her worries melt away. I remembered those days, Monica said. Oh I almost forgot, Connor said, slipping out of the hotel room door. Connor comes back in with a vase full of flowers. He put them on the kitchen countertop. I got you a little house warming gift, it just something quick I grabbed on the way over, he said. Emma hopped off the bar stool an run over to smell the beautiful flowers. There was white roses and white and pink leopard lillies and eucaliptis leaves and lavender stream in the arrangement of flowers. The arrangement of flowers seemed wildly placed together and Im sure her picked out the flowers himself. Most men pick the flowers out by color and not smells to my surprise, Connor didn't do so bad at picking them out. Emma smelled ever flower in the vase before pulling out one of the lillies and saying it was her favorite one. We all gathered around the bar taking our seats. Connor made Emmas plate. He put few shrimp on her plate with steak slices and three small octopus tinicles and seasoned vegetables. He placed her plate in front of her. I would've made my own plate but thank you sir, she said winking at him. She looked at me and her face got red as she forgot she was in my presence. I giggled at her embarrassment before leaning over and whispering in her ear. Emma, there is no reason to be embarrassed about your actions. I can see the attraction between the two of you. All I ask is that you respect one another and yourself, I tell her. With that she nodded her head and started to eat her food. Mmm... this is so good Monica, Emma said, taking in another mouthful of food. We all sat enjoying our dinner while Connor poured himself half a glass of wine. I'm sure Monica told you already. I not only come to eat her delicious food, but I come bearing good news, Connor said with a smile. The flash drive that you provided me has enough evidence on it to put Bobby away for along time, just for interfering with a on going case. I also had an informant do some digging Bobby isn't his real name. Bobbys real name is Mike Stovers. He is a poor kid from Brooklyn. He stole a dead man's identity and moved her just after my father went to Vagas on a business trip, Connor said. My father met a woman named Valorie in vagas that he married it seems that Valorie and Bobby has been working together. I already turned the case over to my lawyer I made six copies of the files full of evidence and placed them in several different locations. First thing tomorrow morning Bobby will be brought into custody and questioned. For now Kathy you will still need to spend one more night with him, Connor says. I nodded in agreement just happy to hear that he will finally be caught and our lives would be normal again. For years now, I have been locked up in that apartment, not being able to escape without the man keeping tabs on my where abouts. Id be free, finally Id no longer have to fear the things he would do to Emma and I. I would no longer have to pretend to be in love or believe his antics or tall tales he told to cover his own ass.
Unknown: I hate paper work and this shitty job. Its late in the afternoon and my mind reels over my situatuation. When I was offered this job I did not expect to have to play the part to the fullest. This job was only supossed to last three months not two years. I have had to take percausion like never before. I had to play this role as a detective for to long now. There was no chance I could back out of this job Bobby would just have me killed the way he had so many others killed. Sir? Excuse me Sir? I hear as my mind was pulled away from my wandering thoughts. Augh yes, what can I do for you Shirley?, I asked the long-legged beauty that has been my receptionist for a little over a month now. Sir, the chief of police just come by and dropped these files off for you. He also left this note for you. I took the large vanilla envelope its contents were packed completely full. Thank you Shirley, I say as she exists my office. I read the attached note. Look over the files inside make sure its a solid case and close it, this one has to put top of the list. No doubt this was just another case the chief wanted me to wrap up. So many case files and evidence has come across me since I started here. Each case was the same. I looked over every file and if it seemed solid I turned it over to the court for these people to be prosecuted. I screwed myself working for this guy Bobby. Regardless if I back out of our deal or go along with it. I never truly paid attention to the details of the case files that pile up on my desk. I just read over some of the contents and say what is verbally written. I have had so many people put away not all were guilty. I have ruined lives and family all because I don't know what I am truly doing. I have gotten beat up and stabbed because many innocent people were hurt an justice was not servered. I pulled the stanch of papers and photographic images from the envelope. Photos of Bobby and a woman I know by the name Valorie fell on my desk. I looked over everything inside and grabbed the burner cell from the hidden compartment in my desk. Sir, you told me to call you if anything come across the station that you would be involved in. Yes is there a problem I need to be aware about? Yes sir, a file just come across my desk. The file has pictures of you and a woman inside. The file is full of documents and incriminating photos, I inform him. I f***ing knew it that double crossing b***h, he mummbels. Alright destroy what you can and then leave the rest to me. What was your orders when the case was given to you, He asks. I was told to look through the evidence and make sure its a solid case and push it to the courts immidiatly, I tell him. Alright tell them its not a solid case and destroy the pictures of me and the woman, He demands. I'll do my best sir, i say before the line goes dead. For f*** sakes how am I suppose to destroy the evidence with out getting caught im sure the cheif has already looked into the file himself. I didnt tell Bobby I knew who the woman was in the photos with him. Now that it all makes senice I might be able to get ahead of him and get out of this game. I quickly shoot a text to someone I know Bobby is in debt with. Mr.Grant, I say happily as I answer my ringing phone. I have an interesting news for you, I tell him. What is it? The last time you had news for me i ended up loosing my son, he spat. What if you told you I know who was involved in your sons murder and I know where to find them, I said hessitantly. Do you have proof of where they are?, He asks with intrest. I do actually and you wont beleive what scandalious is behind all this, I say knowing this is going to be a big suprise for him. Tell me who it is, he bellows. I'll do you one better I'll show you, I say switching my phone to camra view. I turn my camera around to face the files on my desk. Where the f**k are you?, He asks in amusement before he becomes spechless. I quickly explain my situation to him and he is still in shock as looks at the mans face in the photos. I knew exactly who Valorie was as soon as i seen her. Grant is a international crime theif. He deals and dabbels in just about everything. Grant is very natorious and known for his temper but he is smart and collective. He has never killed anyone unless they deserved it but crossing him is the dumbest thing anyone could do. Bobby doesnt even know I know who Grant is. I worked for him back in the day helping him cover up his tracks.
