“What are you apologizing for? I was the one who let you down so much,” I murmured, guilt coloring my tone.
“No! You had every right to be consumed by worries bigger than your alpha mate, who couldn’t understand such a simple thing--that you have so many responsibilities on your shoulders,” he didn’t sound angry or taunting. He seemed guilty for giving me a hard time, and it actually broke my heart.
“No! Your worries were as important. I just didn’t want either of us to get in trouble with my father,” I instantly held his hand and uttered softly and lovingly. He needed me by his side in his toughest moments, and I intended to be there for him.
