My heart was pounding in my temples, and I couldn't tear my gaze away from her face, waiting for a reaction.
"What did you say?" she asked, her strong accent cutting through the tension, shooting a quick glare at Percy, who looked at me in shock.
"He abducted me," I asserted confidently, my voice ringing out.
"Is that true, Percy? You jerk, I should've suspected something. You never brought a woman here, let alone one so pretty," she playfully jabbed at him, leaning over the counter to slap his chest. Her nonchalant attitude sent a shiver down my spine.
I watched Percy scratch his neck and then shrug. He didn't seem scared or guilty.
"Will you help me?" I implored, my heart thudding loudly in my chest.
"Hmm, I can sort you out with a room. He already reserved one," she sa
