Tristan Pov.
A light cough made me turn my head to the entrance. There she stood. Her green eyes were looking at the scene in front of her. The packhouse was packed with people, all eating breakfast to start the day. I heard Ian snicker from my left side. I kicked him hard on his leg under the table. As nothing happened, he continued eating, but not without passing a little growl. I patted the chair on my right side, looking at Onyx with a warm gaze. Even in a large T-shirt and leggings, she was beautiful. With a slight hesitation, she slowly walked up to me. Trying not to draw too much attention. When she sat down, everyone looked at her with curious looks. I started talking with a proud ring in the tone, " Everyone, this is Onyx. She will be visiting us for a while. Treat her like one of us." While I was talking I could see her eyes drop to the floor, not daring to look into everyone's eyes. With that said, we continued breakfast. I nudged her on the shoulder and whispered, " It is okay, everyone here is nice. And eat all you want. You must be starving." Her eyes met mine in a split of a second, and with a smirk she attacked the sandwich in front of her. I couldn't stop staring at her, her small body so perfect. And her blonde curls falling in front of her green eyes. All I wanted was to twirl one of her perfect curls around my finger. But I didn't dare, afraid to scare her away.

I could feel him staring at me. But I liked it, because of this stupid mate bond. It was really a problem, it would make it hard to run away. I can't stay here, because Marc will search for me. And if I stay here he would find me. I can't put someone else at risk. In my mind I decided to rest and work up my strength here for a couple of days. And then get the h*ll out of dodge. Maya growled in my head at my decision. She wanted to stay with her mate. But I knew if I couldn't get away from Tristan I had to reject him. Hopefully it didn't need to come to that. I know he was straining not to grab me and devour me. And I felt it too. Maybe if I acted like I still couldn't feel the bond. Then he would let it go.
After breakfast he took me outside, to look at the pack territory. It was beautiful here. The houses were surrounded by forest. Nothing like the city. Here it was only nature. I followed Tristan to the training grounds. Where a few people were training. We stood and watched them in silence. I shot quick glances at him. Trying not to make it so not obvious. But I could see him raising his lips in a smirk. Something with him made me nervous like a schoolgirl, it made me irritated. As we watched two guys in front of us spar Tristan raised his hand and walked up to the center of the fighting ground. "My turn, who wants to spar with me?" Without even thinking I stepped forward, looking him stern in the eyes. Tristan shook his head and with a unsure gaze said, " You sure?" I raised my chin in defiance. Planning on trying to stop him from giving me more annoying smirks. " Of course, don't hold back." I cracked my neck and took on a fighting position. Ignoring Mayas protest of trying to hurt our mate. Tristan gave me an unsure glance before he raised his hand, waving for me to step forward. I took it as a signal of attack, and charged.

I jerked to the side, just as her knuckle passed beside me. She was fast, really fast. She gave me a small defiant smile, just as she tried to kick me. I blocked all her attacks, without answering back. I could see the frustration in her eyes. But I didn't want to harm her, she is our mate. At least I could feel it. But she didn't act like she felt the same. She never answered my statement about it earlier. " Stop holding back, god d*mmit." I was making her agitated. I gave a small chuckle as an answer. She responded with another kick. But this time i responded. I grabbed Onyx ankle with a firm grip. Making her loose her footing. But just as I was about to pound her to the ground. She twisted and suddenly she made me land on my back hard on the floor. She straddled me as I laid on my back on the dirty ground. People applauded around us. But all I could feel, was the smell of lust, coming from her. It made me confident that she also knew we were mates. Our eyes met and her eyes were burning with desire.
