I shivered as I laid on the cold ground in the middle of the forest. In an attempt to lay soft I had put dry moss on the ground acting as a bed, trying to make it somewhat comfortable. With my backpack working as a pillow it was pretty comfortable, but still really cold. My body was shaking after laying there all night, goosebumps all over my body. I sat up and tried to shake some life in my legs, as they had surrendered to the cold. My body was still stiff and sore. The coldness was the last thing my body needed. Yesterdays events were truly a mess, and I was still shaken about what had happened. The guy that hit me with his car had made me uncomfortable and scared. But at the same time, I got lost in his iceblue striking eyes. His gaze stirred something in my body. The hit itself had't hurt me so much, just a few grazes and bruises. It was more the situation that had left me startled. Me, Onyx, a thief. And I almost got caught. What could had happened if I didn't got the chans to gett the h*ell out of there? I shook my head hard trying to clear my mind, and slowly stood up, giving out a tired yawn. I had nowhere to go, no family or friends. Just me all alone. Without knowing where to go, I grabbed my backpack, tossing it on my back and started walking. Wanderless but staying clear of the grounds of my old pack. They were probably searching for me by now. At least Marc, probably wanting his little toy back. After walking for almost four hours my body was no longer cold, but steaming hot. I was sweating like crazy as the sun gazed on me, sweat droplets on my forehead. Suddenly, a yawn entered my mind. I haltered abruptly looking around me. I swear I heard something, yelling out a light "Hello?" in the thick forest. "I'm in your head stupid, I am your wolf Maya." I exhaled sharply, thinking that I had finally found my wolf. A shimmer of light entered my mind and we both jumped excited up and down. "Oh, Maya! I have waited for you for so long. Thank you moon goddess!" Excited I asked when we were to shift for the first time. Maya sighed disappointed, "Soon, but you are not ready yet. You will have to wait a little bit longer. I'm sorry My little human..."
My mood switched after finally connecting with my wolf. Maya. What a beautiful name for a wolf, hopefully she is as beautiful as she sounds. Almost dancing around, my soul felt somewhat whole again. But a string of disappointment that I had to wait to be able to shift. With the circumstances I were in, shifting would make it easier.
A twig breaking behind me made me stop immediately, a cold shiver started running down my spine. As quietly as I could, I turned towards the sound, . A few meters in front of me stood the stranger that had hit me with his car. Seconds passed as we just looked at each other. My heart pounded in my chest, scared and unsure of the man in front of me. With a dark voice he started talking, "Hi, sorry about earlier, my name is Tristan." I was frozen to the ground just looking at him, Maya snarling puzzled in my mind. Without answering him I started to slowly back away, still not letting go of his iceblue gaze. "No, please don't go." A disappointed look struck through his blue eyes. Anger and desperation flashed through my mind, " I'm okay, what the f*ck are you following me for?!" With raised brows he jerked back, not prepared for my outburst. He held up his hand, trying to calm down the situation. "You can't feel it?" His voice was insecure as he asked the question. Suddenly I noticed that he had slowly walked closer, trying to get closer to me. I backed up more aggressively trying to get out of the situation. "What are you talking about, leave me alone." I snarled at him as Maya took over my mind, shocked over the feeling I never felt before. F*uck, I sounded mean!? I turned around and bolted, running so fast that the branches whipped me in the face. I dared not to look back, afraid that he was right behind me.
Tristan
Once again she ran away from me. I had tracked her since we met, and when I finally found her she bolted again. Axl whimpering in my mind as she disappeared in the thick black forest. "Why is mate running away? We need her!" I tried to console my unhappy wolf, "Calm down Axl. I don't think she feels it, the matebond. Maybe she has not shifted yet?" Axl jumped up and down restlessly, not happy with my answer. "We must tell her, we must go after her again. Now, now, NOW!" I stood a while contemplating what to do about the weird situation, " No. We will wait and see what happens. Still watching over her, but keeping our distance." Axl growled a low snarling sound, unhappy with my decision. An internal discussion only in my mind was happening as I headed toward the packhouse. Walking further away from our mate gave me a pinching feeling in my chest. Like my heart was about to get ripped out from my body. My wolf fighting with me in my mind, wanting to take over. To shift and run after the beautiful woman, our mate. It took real determination not to do as Axl wanted. But I ignored him and shoved him back in my mind. Axl's low rumbling growls echoed in my head. "F*cking stupid human being... Sometimes you are so d*mn stubborn. I rolled my eyes at his comments, digging loudly. Sometimes my wolf drove me crazy.
