I stood in the middle of the garden clearing, my hands still glowing with that violet light. My chest rose and fell fast.
Celine lay on the ground where she had fallen, her silk dress was dirty. Darius and Kael watched from the edge, their eyes locked on me.
The air felt like a thick rope ready to snap.
Celine pushed herself up slowly. Her face twisted with hate. She glanced at the two Alphas, then back at me. “You think they will save you? Watch this.”
Before anyone could move, she jumped forward. Her hand came out of her sleeve with a small dagger. The blade looked normal, but something coated the edge.
She slashed at my side while I still faced Kael and Darius.
