The morning arrives with a different lightness.
The fog of worry that hovered over me begins to dissipate, even if only partially.
It’s not that everything has been resolved, but the conversation with Kieran, the feeling that we are in this together, gives me a new perspective.
I feel a little stronger, a little more capable of dealing with what’s ahead.
As he gets up, I see that his behavior is still the same: thoughtful, concerned, as if all he wanted was to see me well.
But by now, I’ve realized that he also carries his own burdens, his responsibilities, and expectations.
He tries to protect me from all of that, but I know he also needs some relief, something that makes him truly smile.
I want to be that person for him.
