KIERAN BLACKWOOD The silence inside the car is dense as I drive towards the clinic. Scarlett sits beside me, her hands folded in her lap, casting worried glances in my direction. In the back seat, Jake seems shrunken, as if trying to take up as little space as possible. His lost gaze fixes on the scenery passing by the window, but it’s evident he’s just as nervous as I am. I still don’t know what to think. The man who claims to be my brother appeared out of nowhere, bringing doubts I never imagined facing.
