“Are you okay?” Leon asked quietly as he stood beside the bed.
I turned around and saw him standing with a mix of worried expression.I opened my mouth to answer but then,another c***k of thunder split the sky and I didn’t think or hesitate instead I sat up suddenly and reached for him as my arms wrapped around his waist as if my body had decided before my mind could stop it.
Leon stiffened and for a heartbeat, neither of us breathed. My face was pressed against his chest, and I could feel his warmth, and slow heartbeat beneath my ear.
“I—” I started as I pulled back slowly. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to—”
“Hey,” he said softly.
His arms came around me as if he was asking for permission and when I didn’t pull away, he held me firmly with his one hand resting carefully against my back.
