THE ABANDONED CHILD 6
The town continued to thrive in blissful ignorance of Chief Obinna's double life as a revered figure in public and the ruthless leader of the Mambas in secret. Likewise, Chima's relentless pursuit to uncover the truth about his family had led him deep into the heart of the secretive cult.
As Chima rose through the ranks within the Mambas, he became privy to their
inner workings. The cult's influence over the town was far-reaching, and its sinister activities were known to only a selected few. It was during a clandestine meeting that Chima was given the task of accompanying a senior member to deliver an important message to their leader, Chief Obinna.
The day of the meeting arrived, and Chima accompanied the senior cult member to a hidden location deep in the forest, where Chief Obinna awaited. The tension in the air was palpable as Chima stood in the presence of his own father, unaware of their true connection.
Chief Obinna, hidden behind a mask, listened to the message brought by Chima and the senior member. Chima's heart raced as he observed every move, sensing a familiarity in his commanding presence and saw the same tattoo he had on him.The encounter was brief, and Chief Obinna gave a nod of approval to the message's delivery before disappearing into the shadows.
Chima left the meeting conflicted and confused. The pieces of the puzzle were falling into place, and he couldn't ignore the undeniable connection between his father and the Mambas. Yet, he was still unaware of his true identity. So he asked one of the member of the Mambas and he was told how chief Obinna hated his wife because she got to know about the cult doings and planned to expose the truth after the naming ceremony of her child , In which on that very faithful day ,the child was given same tattoo as chief Obinna but the chief wanted to use the child for a sacrifice as a warning to his wife because he knew that was what she cherished most.So he instructed his men to kill the child and his wife. But they succeded in killing the wife ,but didn't see the baby. Chima was surprised but then convinced that chief Obinna was his father.
In the following days, Chima struggled with his newfound knowledge. He felt a growing sense of betrayal by both his father and the cult. He had infiltrated the Mambas with the intent of uncovering information about his family, But
the bond of loyalty that had initially drawn him there, began to fray. He couldn't escape the truth—the father he had sought to reveal was, in fact, the cult's enigmatic leader and a murderer.
