"It's just quite astonishing to me; how did you get this far with those injuries?"

Ilucca received treatment as soon as he arrived in Lotun District, and the results of his body examination left the medical doctors and nurses astonished.

"Just one bullet from a common weapon is enough to cause internal damage. You received fifteen bullets and none of them hit your vitals? Even though they were aimed at your vital organs?"

The doctor was still monitoring the CT scan results of Ilucca's body, and he was still confused, while Ilucca also did not know what to say because what he experienced was not something that everyone could understand; even himself.

"It feels like these bullets are being held back by something in your system. Is it a bone? Or...," The doctor looked at Ilucca with a suspicious look, "are you a hunter?"

"Yes."

"THAT'S IT!" Ilucca gasped, "you are a hunter. Some hunters receive awakening power of the defense or healing type. Could it have an effect on the body as well?"

Ilucca was a little hesitant to answer. The doctor was so eager to ask that he didn't wait for Ilucca to answer his last question.

"Are you an A-rank hunter?"

"Maybe."

"Maybe?"

" Well... I just awakened my power, so I don't know for sure what rank I'll be after I get the awakening power."

"Alright, I understand," said the doctor, "but I'm still impressed by your physical strength, young man. You will surely become a very powerful hunter!"

Ilucca waited for the doctor to leave, then he stared at the hologram screen still open before his eyes.

"He didn't see this thing," Ilucca said, "is this the screen that saved me from death? I should have died by execution, but I've been resurrected into something so powerful that I can defeat an A-type monster in five minutes. Wait, how do I know if that monster is an A-type monster?"

Ilucca thought, but he returned to the screen in front of him.

"This screen told me," Ilucca said, reading the text on the screen.

Ilucca was startled when another voice answered his question, but there was no one nearby. Ilucca saw someone on his system screen, and he was taken aback.

"Are you the one who spoke?"

"Who else?" Ilucca fell silent with a chill around his neck. "How sad. You don't even recognize who helped you. If it weren't for my kindness, you'd be dead, young man!"

"So it was you who helped me? And not something like the game system?"

"This system is just an intermediary, because this world does not have a faith bond that allows the gods and goddesses to access the mortals. Isn't it hard to live without Gods?"

Ilucca said nothing because the gods were something unfamiliar in his world. Ilucca had heard stories about the gods and goddesses that existed on this earth, but those were stories from centuries ago. Nowadays, no one believed in gods anymore.

"Is there a single name of a god or goddess that you know?" Ares asked, and Ilucca seemed to have no clue.

"I didn't learn about the history of gods and goddesses...,"

"Yes, even the elders have forgotten about the history of gods and goddesses; yet we are the ones who have guarded human life for hundreds of centuries since the earth was created. No wonder you had such a long crisis that put humanity on the brink of extinction."

"Crisis?" Ilucca didn't understand, "you mean the appearance of mutated animals?"

"That's only some of what can be seen, but even I won't tell you the details because you're not my obedient servant. I'll just introduce myself; I am Ares, the powerful god of war who loves war. I am your reward for successfully activating this system. Furthermore, this system will guide you to adapt, become stronger and, if you are lucky, you can save the humankind. Ares then disappeared, and the screen returned to show the last activity.

Ilucca was very confused; he tried to understand by thinking slowly, and then he said, "Am I still in GOD MODE? That's why I can use the physical strength of Ares to heal my wounds! Ah! Maybe that's the reason I didn't die after being shot 15 times!" Ilucca was able to smile slightly as he thought he had begun to understand. "That means if I choose just one, then the other choices will be instantly erased, and I'll exit GOD MODE. But which one should I choose?"

Ilucca made his choice hesitantly; he thought of the benefits he could gain if he chose one of Ares' powers. Ilucca didn't think his body was weak, he was a hunter and, since he knew he wouldn't be able to awaken the hunter's core, Ilucca trained himself to be able to master many weapons—the physical strength and the bronze spear probably wouldn't have much effect on him, Ilucca thought.

But as he looked at the first option, Ilucca remembered the moment he felt an incredible rush of energy within him that made him move so lightly and quickly. Ilucca had never moved that fast and defeated a type A monster in five minutes? It sounded like a fairy tale to him if he hadn't moved so fast to match the monster's strength.

Ilucca knew what he needed, and he chose it without thinking.

[GRAND ORDER is an order given only by the god or goddess as a requirement to be successful]

[GOD FRAGMENT is the pieces of a god or goddess that are randomly awarded after the user successfully completes it . After some random pieces are collected and form a complete and perfect GOD FRAGMENT, the user can start in the name of the god listed on the GOD FRAGMENT]

[THE ORDER is an order given by the system as a daily task, optional task, emergency task or task with a specific deadline. The user can use THE ORDER as a chance to improve a skill or the user's level, and some THE ORDER awards as a reward]

Ilucca understood the terms in his system carefully and slowly; he didn't want misunderstandings as small as apple seeds that could affect him in emergency moments.

"Don't I have GOD FRAGMENT? Should I have it from my first order, or did I fail to complete it because I killed Uncle Alan?" Ilucca looked at his system screen.

Ilucca was a little surprised because he was not confident in the results, but the system gave him a bronze plate with imperfect parts like broken.

"Is this a GOD FRAGMENT? Looking at the shape, it looks like it's a round coin," Ilucca said, looking at the object in his hand with a puzzled look. "No matter how long I look at it, I don't know what god is on this fragment. Well, I don't know gods and goddesses either, so I'd better keep it." After saying that, the fragment in Ilucca's hand faded and disappeared just like how it appeared. Ilucca didn't panic because it was in his storage system.

But what made him panic was when the television in his room turned on, and showed an emergency message from the government that made Ilucca gape.
