Henry walked out of the bar, walk straight to his car which is park back in the hospital’s parking lot which where he is heading right now by foot.
“It has been thirteen years, three years that I have spent with you which right now seems to be invalid as you could not remember it even how much I have suffered with it. I have suffered because of you and still after ten years, I am once finally attracted by you.” Is the only thing he could thought while walking, taking his steps towards where his car is.
“Now, I am lost, I am not sure if it is our twisted faith making these things, or it is just because deep inside both my mind and soul I am still not over you. And started questioning now myself, have I even been over you? Or is it only my thought that lied to me and made me feel like it?” He said as he climbs to his car as soon as finally arriving to where it is.
“I am at lost really.” Henry said before starting his engine to drive home.
“Hey mom.” Henry said answering the usual call he gets at this time of the day.
“Hey hon, I just called you that you only have five days left.” His mom said.
“Five days before?” Henry said in wonder.
“You need to get home; it is your birthday party. Two days from now I will be sending invitations.” His mom somehow sounding so excited about something he does not want to happen or not even feeling like doing it.
“I go home. In one condition.” Henry said trying to negotiate with his mother who hums on the other side, thinking if she should say yes and hear what he is about to say or just say no.
“Let me hear it first.” His mother said with sudden turn of stern voice from excitement.
Henry smiled to the thought of his mom’s face right at this moment, he could completely imagine how her face looks like right now. Since his grandmother died, it made him thought that the stress of him finding a wife would lessen, although he felt bad about it but he just could not seem not to feel relief. But that was only all his thoughts. Ever since his grandmother died it became even worse. As his mother became even more persistent and even taking all her time just to find someone for him that every occasion his family had, there will always not less than ten girls he would be introduced with every time, making him hate the occasions.
“I will go home, but I do not want to have a party, a ball to find a wife, but instead, I will bring home someone and we could have lunch and dinner together, we will stay for exact one day since I could not afford to take more than that since a lot of lives are under my care.” Henry said nonstop, not giving his own mother a chance to say anything before he could finish his condition.
His mother became silent for a moment that he made a sudden stop just to make sure that there is nothing he would slip by not hearing it before she said “Is that so? But just to be clear, it is a girl you are bringing home, right?” with a little doubt in her voice.
Henry chuckle for a moment before he said “Do not have to worry, I would not do that again. So, be at ease it is a girl and I am sure you will love her but I have a favor to ask you.” Remembering how he fooled when he made the same deal in the past and brought one of his first-year interns and almost gave his mom a heart attack by madness of what he did.
“I am not so sure if I should trust you by that but I would try considering after hearing your favor.” His mother said with full of doubt in her voice.
“You will, I am sure enough. I just want you to behave. I have nit asked her yet out and I am just about to so please just be neutral when you see her. I will tell you the full details when I get home.” Henry said with a solemn tone.
“Again? Well, if you say it like that, I guess it is true this time. Then I have to start calling to cancel the preparations. But I have something to ask you.” His mother said with a little of disappointment in her tone.
“What is it?” Henry said.
“Should I prepare another room for her or not?” His mother said with a teasing tone.
Henry looks in space with disbelief in what he heard and wide eyes as she could not believe his mother had to ask right after of what he just told her.
“Mom!” Henry exclaimed making the old lady giggle on the other side of the call.
“Sorry, ok, ok just tell me what time you will be arriving. And day so I would now when to start cleaning the mansion and prepare a guest room beside yours.” His mother said still teasing him before she bid goodbye and hung up the phone without waiting for any of his words, his retort to the tease he just received from her.
“Mom.” Henry said before he sighs with the thought of his mom will be exaggerating with her so-called preparations.
“But before that, I have to think of something to ask her and get her to say yes to go with me.” Henry said in space before he starts his engine once again and started driving.
Getting home in just a few minutes of drive, he quickly went to have a bath, a quick bath since he still need to take a look at something, something he has been hiding.
He went out of bath with only his robe o , took a cup of hot milk before he went to his study room where a pile of huge cabinets are standing next to each other with full of books in them.
He walk straight to the very last one standing at the end and pull out two books at the same time. He put it down on the small table beside him before he reached for another one that was hiding behind the two earlier he took out.
He took a white old looking book. With a picture of brain on its cover. And a lot of piece of post its in almost each and every page of it.
He held the very first, he flip it jumping from cover to page thirty eight which he looks at, stare at while rubbing with thumb over the words that was hand written. Hand written by him.
“You were the first one.” He said looking at the words that was written on it which says “Saw this in" and a certain name of a movie to which he smiled remembering his habits.
His habit of looking up for everything and anything that has piqued his interest in a movie, in a song, in an article or in anywhere there is something unknown to him. And he has been doing that from the moment he learned how to read.
He has been very studious, but not a study freak who does not know how to go out and have fun with someone or spend some of his time leisurely with his family. He just really know how to manage his time.
