The Thirst

1014 Words
As Catrina escaped Mordor city, her pack followed right behind her making loud howls right after her. She knew they'd do all in their power to capture her. She also knew the pack formation and how they ordered during their hunts. There were always two lead hunters and four to six flankers. The flankers were fast runners so they could cover more ground to capture their prey. As soon as the flankers have paced way ahead of the prey then they will in a smooth transition, turn back and face their prey headlong bringing it to a halt while the lead hunters come from behind to encapsulate their prey in a frenzy. This “gorilla method” was used for prey that was fast and hard to kill. As they chased her she knew they would catch her and the only chance she had was to cross the river that separated Mordor city from the bad lands. As she kept running, her strength began to fail. She had never tasted werewolf blood ever before so didn't know how it would rejuvenate her. Zadok was the beta male of the pack that followed after Catrina from Mordor. He had never seen Catrina hunt in werewolf form before and this was his first. He knew he had to do everything to capture Catrina or he may also be killed for failing to carry out the assignment. He increased his leaps as he advanced to Catrina slowly closing the wide gap. As Catrina closed to the River, exerting all her strength in her strides, all her thoughts were to make it through the river to the other side. There, Lycans won't dare to trespass as they will be killed by the Rugaru watchers. As she kept running, she felt a growl closer to her, turning slightly backwards, it was Zadok- usually called ‘the golden beast’. Zadok stretched and bit her hind leg ss she screamed in pain. This reduced her speed as the flankers were already at the river bank. With her last strength she kicked at Zadok’s jaw until he let go of her hind leg. Selling a dummy to the flankers waiting ahead, she turned westward and headed to the rocky hills close to the river where the watchers were.As Drogo’s wolves saw she was at the tail of the hills they stood still and howled looking at her as she dashed away- they knew she had already escaped. As soon as Catrina knew ahe was way away from her captors’ grasps, she slowed down to catch her breath. Her injured leg was already bleeding as the cut from Zadok's bite was deep. Soon after she began to feel lighter- she was shifting back to her human-like self. Her brown furs began disappearing, her claws shortened to fingernails while her face reshaped to her normal self. Here she was by the hill, covered in sweat and blood from the bite from Zadok. The watchers closed up to her to kill her but their leader- Antonio the beta of the pack restrained them, stirring at her naked body. “You saw what the Lycans did to her, she must be very important to be chased this far”, He said with a compelling tone. All the Rugarus in the pack nodded in agreement . “Let's take her to the sanctuary," he continued as they all backed off to allow him carry her almost lifeless body. Catrina had lost a lot of blood from Zadok's bite. As Antonio carried her on his back racing back to the sanctuary, all on his mind was how she'd need to drink blood urgently to revive her. The distance to the sanctuary was about 60 miles north from the hills and it will take a miracle to get her to sanctuary and give her a blood infusion or force her to feed. Antonio knew the thirst had already begun. At this time, neither animal nor human blood would make a difference because the ‘zing’ Rugaru blood possessed was absent in both. It was also so coincidental as only Lycan werewolves could be rejuvenated by Rugaru blood and not vice versa. Back at Mordor city, news spread fast that Catrina had defied Drogo and had been exiled. Gloomy faces filled the streets as she was the people's champion and they loved her very much. As soon as the news got to sessy’s chambers, she went straight to Drogo who was now in his private chambers to confront him. As she approached his door, his guards asked her politely what she wanted but looking at her countenance they both gave way for her to enter his chambers. Unaware his Luna would come to his chambers Drogo had two of his concubines in his bed. As she bursted in angrily, she fumed even in more anger realizing what Drogo was busy doing. “Why would you exile our daughter?” She asked, her eyes blazing red. His concubines both rushing out of his bed to fetch their dresses intending to leave. Drogo stood up calmly from his bed and walked to the table placed close to his window to fetch himself a glass of R.blood. After pouring into his glass cup he turned around and faced Sessy. “She defied me!” Sipping from his cup and then belching loudly. Sessy looked behind her as she watched the two lady wolves leave Drogo's room barely clad. They both apologized to her as they were scared and sorry for what they did at the same time. Silence returns forr some minutes as their footsteps faded. “Is this what you spend your reasonable time doing mating with cheap sluts for an heir?!” She asked with full venom in her voice as she turned slowly facing Drogo. Drogo, staring back with an emotionless face, answers as he takes another sip from his half filled cup, “I'm the Alpha and I mate with whoever I want or I'm pleased with!” “Like I should not?!” Sessy interrupts him prematurely.
